My idea for a new site
-
For the first issue here are my ideas I have been tossing around:
First, the three shows for coverage:
Jamestown Winter Show
Toppers
Prime SteelAnd I guess if there are indoor shows that I dont know about nearby, I will cover them too.
I want to do a club profile on Suedes Car Club.
And then I would like some more modern vehicles for features.
I would throw a shop profile into the mix too if I have time. (Shop owners PM me)
Then for future issues, more club profiles, features on specific areas, IE sport bikes, sport trucks, etc. Maybe do garage scene articles, on the guys who got real interesting buildups going on and doing the work themselves, if somebody wanted to do tech articles (leaning more towards tech articles that work across the spectrum of vehicles, like detailing or something).
Mustangdude, if you want to help PM me, thanks.

remember, NOT JUST IMPORTS!!! If you wanbt to make it interesting, you'll need some different cars.Definitely isnt going to be all imports. Remember Im a pickup guy (both 4x4 and lowered) and im a old school hot rodder. I want to get a good deal of coverage for everything.
And hardwood, I would like to cover races too, drag races, autocross, whatever. And there will be project cars coverage too.
So really anyone, shops, clubs, individuals, whatever you have or building, if its something interesting, let me know.

i only read the first page, but how about an online magazine associated with the sites? such as here at fargostreet and the northern animation site or whatever other sites there are around here.
www.soundillusions.net has its online car audio magazine called momentum. they have the person in charge then various people write for it each month.
i think it has been around now for 3 yrs or so.
some months longer than others and some months it is missed, but it is always anticipated.Monty

eek... been planning something very similar for a few months now....
(waiting to come up with the time to put it into action)not so much an 'online magazine'....
-but covering everything from shows to dirt-track in the area
(more event promotion than event coverage)
-quite a few other little things I have in mind to go along with it. -

i know had i not stumbled upon some of the events i have i would have not known about alot of it. with me being out of the loop over here in thief river falls and all.
but when i do hear about things i add them to my own schedule and then play it by ear as things get closer.
hard to attend or support if you do not know about them.
i love national boards who do not hassle for promoting local things.

i like the promotion idea dubbsyagreed. there are so many car shows that don't get promoted very well that it's sad (there were car shows that I didn't hear about until afterwards, that I wanted to go to)... ISD doesn't promote themselves, so someone has to do it (cause I'd like to keep the track around)...
I always had big dreams of what it could be... especially after the whole PD-loudcar-whatever-whatthefuck crap started.. Part of it was going to be to start tracking traffic stops and if a problem was noticed, as an 'organization', take it to FPD or MPD and deal with it.
and I guess for what it's worth, reviews of events would be present in the message boards (never really thought about having someone specific do it).
I'd just love to see some of the apparent distance between say the import guys and the classic guys close up... Each scene is so small on it's own that it'd be nice to bring it all together (yeah, BIG dream there) cause I'm a car lover no matter what's driven.
include shop reviews (although it may get a little touchy). Try and bring in the average person with reccomendations on shops.. quite a few in the area and unless you've tried them all yourself, you're either guessing or relying on someone else's opinion.
(and actually it still might happen - Might take it up as my BS-Gcomm Senior Project starting after the first of the year)
