Sentra Show Car???
-
I just needed an antenna and I like blue bulbs they are better then yellow, as for the antenna it will be shaved off when I get it painted. I never said nething about winning shows, I just want to be able to enter the shows respectably (sp). I do plan on putting a lot of money into this car, I will still work on the Camaro just not as much its already pretty nice.

!Mustangdude; in your situation this is what I would do in my opinion.
First off, don't buy cheap parts like APC... Like Tjamz said; buy Name brands, they are more highly recognized and normally you also get what you paid for. If you are really seroius on making this a show car, don't piece it together piece by piece; since I'm sure this winter you'll be driving it. Not saying don't buy parts over winter, cuz do that, just don't install them. Wait til you have everything or good portion before you consider putting it on. Since it's a 92; I'm sure a lot of body work may need to be done & this would probably also include interior work. A 92 prolly isn't in the best all-around shape. With waiting to install parts if you find out it's not worth the project, you have a good chance of reselling everything, especially since it's name brand products. I'd personally probably start with rims and tires. Nothing cheap.... Also I'd take into consideration of doing this before you enter a car show.. Engine Swaps? F/I, Professional work on body kit, and professionally repainted. Just a few thoughts, but look at this way, the more it looked like you spent on the car, the better it'll look...
but for now, I'd stop the modding and just drive it thru winter... Cuz you never know if you'll realize if it's just not worth turning it to a show-car.. -

They look like shit and are a hazard to others on the road, since amber is for turn signals, not blue. APC shit does not make your car respectable at all. It will look exactly like what people think of as a ricer, pieced together.
Also, where are you getting the money for all these parts for the Sentra and Camaro?
-
Ya Im gonna have the kit installed professionally and the car painted profesionally too. As for the swap, down the road after the body is complete. The body is actually good for a 92 lil hail damage to hood, but I am gettin a CF hood, and a lil rust on it but its all surface rust. THe interior needs new seats and headliner and carpet, which would all be replaced anyways so not to bad
-
I am getting my money from working and selling my hockey card collection on Ebay, I have literally millions of cards some very rare ones too. For right now most of the money will be going in the Sentra
-
i guess, but I would replace it anyways...so it doesnt really matter

For the headlights; do HIDs.. The real ones that are super-bright
Don't do cheap bulbs..
And i'd try and do a theme.. Don't throw carbon fiber on chrome wheels w/ clear tails..
for ex: IMO try doing it this way.. Carbon Fiber hood, gunmetal wheels, and maybe smoked tails or leave them stock.
You gotta go into this thinking you have deep pockets, or else your car will just be overlooked, and you gotta keep in mind; you'll never get the $$ you put into it back.. So at least with a swap you maybe quicker than the average ricer. -
Pretty much your view of the car better be completely diff from what it looks like now..
And I'd be picky on your bodykit.. No fiberglass, go poly eurathane if you can if it's avail. I'd have the car completely stripped for when you paint it too. And maybe consider a good audio/video install on the inside too; not cheap stuff you get like Road Gear or what not.. Think Alpine or high end brands.. And maybe a custom fiberglass enclosure for woofers in the back.
This ain't going to be cheap but just trying to give you ideas. -
Any car has potential, just some take way more $$$ and way more time
-
shane you do realize that if that car didnt come stock with an SR20 its pretty much worthless for doing an engine swap right? You want to enter a show respectfully? Here's what I see: You are gonna be way more respected with your Camaro then you will be with your Sentra unless you have like 600whp, RWD, a crazy stereo setup etc...You seriously need to take a look at your priorities...Shane, I know you are doing this for you but who are you kidding? You own a nice ass Camaro and a winter beater of a Sentra...hmm what is gonna get more respect?! Thats pretty easy if you ask me. You are obviously not after any kind of respect for doing this because if you were you'd be smart and think about what you are actually doing. I usually stay out of this shit but as a fellow Nissan owner I know that the sentra is pretty much worthless. It'd be one thing if this was your only car, etc but you bought a damn nice Camaro which we all agreed was nice. THINK ABOUT IT MAN

THe Probe isnt mine but it will also be made into a show car, as for the system Im gonna either go JL or Infinity with a fiberglass enclosure for sure. Im gonna go CF hood, lookin for some nice 17's either gonna put Nitto Pirelli Toyo or Falken tires on them, not sure what kinda rims yet though. I want to repaint the car Black with some blue graphics.

Well said.. Look at this way; if you don't do it you got a sentra you can beat the piss out of all winter, and save the mod $$ for the camaro and add a s/c and what not.

I know my Camaro is nice, but I like the Sentra more....
-
Camaro needs like everything that the Sentra needs anyways....

I know my Camaro is nice, but I like the Sentra more....Yes, we do realize this Shane as you have stated it a few times. You need to look at reality and what would be really respectable in a show. Face the facts. Sure, you may like the Sentra more but is that is gonna be more respectable overall? If you like the Sentra more why don't you refresh it a little bit with some new stock parts or a few upgraded ones while your at it but why go all show with that? Think about that as well...how much are you gonna drive your "All Show Sentra"? Not nearly as much as you'd drive your other car since the Sentra would be just that, "All Show". You'd be stuck driving the Camaro more and the Sentra less. So why not mod out the Camaro and drive the Sentra more? Makes sense by your logic anyways. I mean face it, if you step into the Nissan ring you ARE gonna get pushed around and probably will not be taken seriously or be respected very much. I'm sorry to say it. Nissan guys are some of the most serious tuners I've seen. I think I speak for most, if not all of them when I say we really hate ricers with our badge on it. Face it, without some SERIOUS work that car will always be a ricer. It's a 92 Sentra for crying outloud. I've always kept my thoughts to myself about your cars and your ideas for them, but its too much now. You have really gone off the deepend with this idea. Please seriously reconsider what you are thinking of doing. I'm not trying to get rid of competition either. Frankly, I would love for you to compete against me. By no means is my car a show car, but damn even how it sits right now, you would not compare with an XE model Sentra. I'll say it again, have fun with the motor swap in a car that wasn't made for any other motor. I guess I'll just leave alone on this and let you think it over very seriously. Just please ask yourself this question: Which car has a better chance of being a contender(shows or anything)? Do what you want. If you do go through with this, I will look forward to kicking your ass on the show scene. Sorry man.
