does anyone know how i can make a fiberglass body peice easier to work with? i have 2 problems, my rear numper i got fits well, but where it bolts to the fender on both sides flares out, so i have to push them in, but i dont want all that stress on the bumper....

another is my wide body rear panels, on my 95 ex coupe, where it follows the door line down, and takes the hump over the quarter panel it sticks out and it completely flat, well im affraid when i glue it, there will be so much stress on it, that the glue wont hold it tight against the body......

anyone know what i can do?!

not much you can do for pliability, besides making relief cuts and reglassing.

you can warm it up. I know when you mix the resin/hardener together, it gets warm and its easily bendable. Try heating it up, it will smell bad and probably be alittle messy, but I may work. Other than that, relief cuts and reglass as mentioned before.

Only problem with heating it is that you are weakening the material. Yes, as it is curing it warms up, but you can't really uncure/re-cure something. Think about it like this analogy:

If you make deer jerky (or beef jerky, whatever) you cure it by adding seasonings and salt, now while it is possible to resoak the jerky in water to remove the added flavors, no matter what you do it won't be the same as the raw meat and you'll never get it back to the jerky flavor it was before...even if you re-cure it. (bad analogy, I know, but I think you know what I'm getting at here)
