Compaq Presario R3000US Laptop
Pentium 4, 3.0 Ghz
768mb of DDR2700 Ram
ATI Radeon 9600 Mobility w/ 128 DEDICATED RAM
60gb 5400 RPM Harddrive
15.4 inch Wide Screen
Built in 802.11b/g Wireless
10/100 NIC Card
Comes with XP ProfessionalI ordered this computer directly from Compaq, had it custom built to my specifications. I really wanted a desktop replacement computer, one that could play all the games without having to sacrifice any quality. That's why I opted for the ATI Radeon w/ 128mb dedicated ram. In most laptops today, you'll find that the video ram is shared with the main ram, meaning its much slower. This laptop actually has a for real video card in a minipci slot interally, it features S-Video Out (for out put to a TV) and can play half-life 2 at high resolution without hiccuping at all.
I also upgraded the ram to 768mb, 512 can feel sluggish at times.
The Pentium 4 processor running at 3.0ghz rivals that of nearly every desktop out still today.
I also upgraded the harddrive to from the 4200rpm model to the 5400rpm model, for faster performance.
Also comes with JBL Professional Speaker system and a 6 in 1 built in card reader.
- 3 USB 2.0 ports and a Firewire port as well....
Now for the cons: there really is only one, the battery that I currently have for it doesn't hold a charge for that long; when i first purchased the computer the li-on battery lasted for an hour and a half, now it has to be plugged in the majority of the time, can be unplugged for like twenty minutes give or take. I did find new batteries on eBay, for like $60, so its not a huge deal, but I had to mention it.
I spent over $1600 on this laptop new, I'm looking for $550 obo... Let me know if you have any questions.

If Kelly doesn't take it, I probably will

Bump for an awsome laptop, too cheap for the specs. I had the same one with only 733mhz AMD 64 and 1gb of RAM, and that was pretty fast. To make clear of the life of the battery, mine had the same problem too, only last about an 1. My new Gateway last atleast 2 and a half hour, could it be a compaq glitch?

damn cheap price.. if i had the cash.. and more time
