Well you CAN autocross anything..... But I know for a fact that an Sti with 600hp will autocross better than a 500Hp Drag car. Of course there are exceptions to every rule. And before you flame.... I am not spouting this as law. No need to get panties in a bunch. But that's what the PAX times are for. Keeps it fair for the driver to have no advantage with the car. It will show who the better driver is. I do not need this car to be the fastest in the 1/4.... Nor does it need to win at national autoX events..... This is a show piece for our shop. That's it. for all I know it won't even run. But if it does.. Cool. As for the turbo size and or the displacment... these things are confidential at this time.

I Auto X'd my lil bros 485hp talon and it did fine... fun as hell.

I just dont think the automatic tranny will do fine this year. I plan on ditchin the 5 speed stuff and going auto w/ hi-stall for drag racing.. 10's easy With going to an auto I will have more time racing and less time fixing.. Fingers crossed..

Are the auto tranny's a lot stronger than the manual transmissions in DSM's? Does anyone rebuild them stronger?!? I wondered about this back in the day when everyone was eating tranny's like who done it.

Yeah the auto's are seeming to prive themselves worthy now since IPT came out w/ a good trq converter and shift kit for them. Guys have been running 10's on a stock auto trans w/ the converter and shift kit from IPT. Only thing that sucks now is Nopi changed their rules for this upcoming year and now banned auto trans, GM trans, and methanol for all classes except pro and outlaw.

I'm sure I'd be quicker in the auto-x than a certain gsxr1000 with 3" of ground clearance would be. 😛

Prototype...? You guys make it sound like you aren't piecing this car together from vendors.

uh what? yeah who doesn't. Sorry we don't make turbo's, or coilovers, or pistons. He asked the size of the snail. We are waiting on some results back on a turbo that is being prototyped/tested. Maybe I used the wrong term here. If the point you were making is that we are bolting parts on the car that we didn't make ourselves, you are correct. I am not a mass manufacture of parts. I do not think I could make a turbo. If you were intersted in what we maybe fabricating on our own that they do not make for the car you will have to stay tuned. these exact things will depend on what we end up using. Hense the comment I made about waiting for the prototyped parts/information. So there is not a reason to talk about what we are doing if this may change. We still have along way to go. But we can't really fab up the header, the turbo location, the DP, the V-mount or the AWIC or anything like that till we get the motor back. The land of EJ25's is evolving pretty fast. Machinest are learning everyday. Cosworth is spending tons of money on R&D for different products and services. And no, we are not building the motor. We do not have the machining equiptment here in house to do that. Nor does anyone in the state have it..(for what we are doing) so hopefully that clears some things up. Maybe I was way off, but that is the best I could read from your comment.

i think what he meant was are you getting parts everyone can buy or something a certain shop is specially building for your car that is not available to the market.

I'm willing to bet it will be parts that are/will be available to the public. This is a shop car and shop cars are designed to drive sales. I can assure you that Shanes wagon put him on the map amongst WRX owners in this area and is partly to blame for why they have more WRX's in their shop right now than most shops will see in the next year...and thats not a stab at any other shops, just stating what I see. I'm sure this car may have a few unique parts that are rather rare, but not a tremendous amount and those that are rare will probably be in the internals rather than external visual stuff. From what I can tell, this will be a shop-promoting-marketing-machine, as it should be.

Hey dave I got to see this one in person. They didn't have any performance numbers on it yet, or atleast that they weren't telling. Life is good to be Jeff Perrin. It is crazy because that motor looks like it belongs in there. 2006 swapped with a tribeca motor....... gotta love it. When Steve-O comes in I will have him post some of my picks of it.

BlueJay's hit it on the head. From what you said, I thought it sounded like you were experimeng with swapping compressor housings on a GT series or something, maybe custom fabbed manifolds. I had originally assumed you would be using off-the-shelf parts available to everyone - and that appears to be the case. I'd love to see you guys, or anyone for that case, get into some serious fabrication in fargo, but I guess we can't all be Goeffe Evans, right?

Hey dave I got to see this one in person. They didn't have any performance numbers on it yet, or atleast that they weren't telling. Life is good to be Jeff Perrin. It is crazy because that motor looks like it belongs in there. 2006 swapped with a tribeca motor....... gotta love it. When Steve-O comes in I will have him post some of my picks of it.

Yep, thats it... . verrrryy cool. It's actually in one of the latest magazines I have, don't recall which one. I'll check it tonite and see, but I think they had hp figures from it. Very neat swap!
