          seatle from here would take longer, cant go straight the tracks are really curvy throught mountains

            shit, just realized should've posted under multimedia....my bad.

            As for the proto stuff, dont know, think its a working model for function, mainly because they do travel through mountain/hills and looks like a decent distance too that they travel.

              they use electro-magnets on the rails and magnets on the part of the train that grips the track to obtain such high speeds. you can't do that with regular trains cuz of the friction/weight. so that kind of train floats above the track and really goes at crazy speeds.

                yeah, I don't think it matters what kinda landscape they put the track through for being able to do it, just how much they want to spend on building the track cause they need speacial super straight level tracks to go those speed, inertia is a huge problem at those speeds I'm guessing. but from here to winnepeg would kick ass!!!! nice flat straight run, could even stop in grandforks for popcorn or something on the 30 minute or so trip up there!

                  some of us from Moorhead will remember mag lev from 8th grade tech ed haha...shits pretty cool if you ask me...i think that train has been around awhile as ive seen it on modern marvels a couple years ago etc
