I dont know what they are called if there is no autostart. But I am looking to get a remote that will unlock and lock my car. Someone said a key "fob" or something like that but im not sure. Nothin fancy but i am just getting nervous about the shit getting stolen in my neihgborhood.(being that my door locks are the ones where the only way you can lock it is by pushing the lock down from the inside) I know that Tjamz sells the autostart ones but i dont want an autostart. Where could i get a decent one for real cheap? Anyone know?

Just get an alarm system, then you get the security you want and the convienence of remote unlock.

Keyless entry provides ZERO protection against theft. ZERO, ZIP, ZILCH, NADA

get an alarm and then have someone competent install it, otherwise it will be a worthless noise maker for anyone except the person trying to steal the car/parts

Key fob is the piece of the keyless entry that will control the locks it also is what controls an astro start or other remote starters and or alarms.... alarms will only go so far if you get a theft that know's what they are doing it won't stop them but i'm guessing most of the theft that goes on around here is just dumb asses with no respect for OPP

Why dont you stick the key in the hole after door is shut and lock it or if you push down the lock then hold the handle in open position and shut it the lock should stay or it does on most cars.

FWIW, I can do a very basic alarm w/ keyless entry for ~$150 installed...maybe a bit more if I need to add an actuator to control the drivers door lock...$175 installed then.
