Royally "F'ed" myself in the "A"... tube flaring help needed

Well I was working on converting my stock fuel lines to stainless, and in the process had to trim the stock tube nut on my fuel inlet hard line.....long story short--I cut a nice size little gash into the hard line. NOW....I dunno what the hell to do. I have considered JB Qwik'ing that ish....or the other option is to try to cut the bad portion of the line off, re-double flare the line....but I dunno what the hell I am doing. Anyone care to enlist their advice????

Well, I have a tube flaring kit...but have never ever even thought about using it (makes me wonder why I have it)...but it's only a single flare kit. I can certainly but a double flare kit, but I have ZERO experience and don't want to fuxor this up at all.
Also, the flaring kit I have, and what I know is available....seems to be all standard sizes....would it be a problem using this on a metric sized line?!?!??!?

Well, it's late and I am sick of trying to think about this. I am going to try to find a double flaring kit tomorrow and see if I can't just wing it...I mean how hard can it be.
If anyone has any advice, a hand they are willing to lend, or a double flaring kit I could borrow leave a message and I will check it before I start tomorrow.....otherwise, wish me some friggen luck.

Your best bet is to find a double hand flaring tool.
Although we have the luxury of both single/double flaring machines in my shop, as well as hand flaring tools, I can't offer services since they're gov't property.
But no, don't try to double flare a piece of tubing with a single flaring tool. All that will do is increase and thin the flare, to the point that it will crack at the ends and the fitting will no longer pass over the flare. Double flares (as I'm sure you guessed) shape the flare differently.
So yeah, like you said, go and get double flaring tool.

I believe this type of flare is also called an inverted flare. I have one floating around, but won't be around until this w/end. If you buy one get some tubing too and practice first. I do know with the hand ones you got to crank down on them pretty hard to get a good flare..

Anyone care to enlist their advice????Fuel line and hose clamps would be your quickest and easiest bet. Did you wreck the car side or the fuel pump assembly side?

I wrecked the hard line that comes off the firewall, right now I am doing exactly what nick suggested and am using some tubing and hose clamps. I found a shop that says they can easily do a double flare for me (fingers crossed) so I will see how it goes. I called about 10 shops and all of them said "no-go"...I'll keep you guys updated.

Alright, from the firewall forward is pretty much useless to try to get anything to work anymore, just not enough fuel line to work with.....so, I am adapting an -AN fitting right next to the passengers side door and running braided from there all the way to the fuel line....atleast that is the plan.
