Ok, i have 2 8" JL audio w3's run by a PG amp. And the subs always cut out and sometimes stay off completely until i hit a bump or turn sharp. I have checked every wire running in between the subs and the amp and still cant find a loose wire. Anyone that knows anything about audio PLEASE HELP! I just got these subs and its starting to piss me off that i cant even listen to them.

    Thanks, Nick R.

did you check anything in the box? or anything before the amp?

At first I did it for fun, then I realized I made the investment and had to do it!

sounds like a loose ground or RCA cable. Have you verified that the amp is staying on during this time? If so, it is probably a bad connection to the RCA Cables, if not, its probably a grounding issue. There is always the possibility that the amp has developed an intermittent problem (solder joint came loose on PCB or even a jumper wire is loose).

Another possibility (if the amp loses power) is that the remote turnon wire is losing connection somewhere. Were the wires soldered or just crimped? If they were crimped I would cut the crimp connector out and solder it the wires together (behind the deck or any spot where crimps were used).

the absolute first thing to check is if the amp stays on when the subs quit. If the answer is yes, then the problem either lies in the input or output signals of the amplifier. Since you've already eliminated a wiring problem between the amp and the subs, its possible that the wiring issue is either in the sub box itself or in the RCA cables leading to the amplifier.

I hope this helps you a bit

I agree with chuck.....it really sounds like a loose ground...

but check the RCA's and Remote turnon wire anyways...im sure your ground is bad.
