    the vtecs have high compression in order to make power. thats the only reason. thats why they can make 200 hp from a 2.2L. as for vtec and psi, i can tell you much there, ive heard the same kind of things that you have, although not about the power. ive heard that vtec and turbo still make great power, but theres something about when vtec kicks in that messes things up, i dont know, that would be my guess. plus psi and high compression dont work well together.

      My People,

      Any Honda people out there that know a lot about Vtec's you could sure help me out. I was thinking of keeping with the Honda thing and going with a Vtec and n2o. From what I hear, Vtec's can be a bit tricky to install on base engines. Any one ever done or heard of Vtec in a Vigor or Honda C22 or Honda Inspire (JDM)? If so, I love you. and You should help me out. i can't get a feel for what the status of my car will be. And it's pissin me off! GRRR i know nothing about cars so it's riding on lovely people like you!

        I belive going Vtec would be pretty tricky and would involve getting a new head, if honda ever has a 5 cly Vtec, as the cam's and basically entire valvetrain are different....

          from what i know they never made vtec on a 5 cyl...do an engine swap

              turbo that thing...you can get a turbo for pretty cheap...im sure theres fuel upgrades for that car...you might have to do some research on honda forums and other things...or you can port and polish before you do anythin else and get a valve job

                      Quick question....educate me here please

                      why is it difficult for a motor equipped with some kind of Variable Timing (IE VTEC) to gain Forced Induction VIA turbo? Is it due to the high compression, and speaking of which why do VTEC motors have higher compressions then there counterparts? Always was curious about this.
