I need to get a new posi unit installed in my car (2000 Trans Am) and I was wondering if anybody had any recommendations. Thanks!

Weivoda Auto, all they do is rear ends, they did an excellent job with my gears. 287-POSI

I would say weivoda, or do it yourself. I don't think it would be too bad.

EDIT: why are you getting a new posi?

hehehe, you all said "rear end"...hehehe....anyways, ya, weivoda does good work with rear end rebuilds. If you just want to install a posi, most shops should be able to install it for you.

Hell, you could install a new trak-loc (Ford) or posi (GM) in your garage if you want.

Thanks for the tips! I'll probably call Weivoda, since I don't have a good service manual or much time right now.

No, I'm hoping to prevent that. I don't have a very aggressive STR or gearing, but I'd feel better with a little insurance.

I would be more worried about your tranny than your rear end. There are plenty of autos with stock rear ends running 10's and 11's.

Hopefully the beefup done on the transmission will be sufficient. I hope I get a few runs in this year.
