no, as far as I know, caleb does not do rotary builds/rebuilds. I know he has a couple 7's sitting around that he is planning on getting running but he will be buying a motor for them iirc.

so i guess if u don't know much about those engines, then Fargo isn't a great place to own a RX-7? how about modifying the car?

Marty at Lunde is one of the two rotary mechs in the state. The other is in GF. Marty did my engine install, 30k on that motor now with not one problem, with the motor that is. You dont need to be a rotary guru to own one. Most 7 owners will have there motors built to the needs they want i.e. street port, race port, 3mm seals ect. Working on a rotary has the same principals as a piston motor; air, fuel, spark. So working on them and modifying them is almost the same, if you know how to install a piston motor you know how to install a rotary. Unless you plan on ripping into the motor and changing the dome of the rotor, you'd be fine with owning one.

            Eric you are the exception...

Well depending on what kind of build you want I know of a couple of guys that do them outta their homes. I had mine rebuilt by a guy out in PA and he did a street port other than that it was just new seals and springs. Si far so good, there is also another guy I think the website is www.rotaryresurrection.com Other than that I think you can get a Mazda Reman for like $1800. As far as modding goes the rotary is one of the easiest engines to work on. There is plenty of room under the hood to work with. I have done some decent upgrades to mine and it took real well to every mod. So dont be scared because the # of rotary specialists/gurus is low in this area. With the I-net these days help is never really to far away. Plus there is a ton of rotary shops nationwide that can build you a motor.

Marty was a good tech for the older mazda's but he couldnt produce the hours that Service wanted...he was/is very good at what he does but he just takes his sweet time at doing it and wasnt making the shop money so they let him go...Im sure if you guys need work done he would do it on the side at his house...he loves the rotary and I think he has a few motors laying around at his place as paper weights
