Wanted: b16

im looking at getting a new engine next summer and im woundering if anyone has a b16a Vtec engine just laying around or willing to part with. If it would come with a tranny that would be just great but if not thats fine too. Just wanting to see what i can get localy b4 going somewhere else. thanks.

You guys need to quit looking for B16's. Dont waste the $$. If you want a B series go for a LS B18A/B. Myself and treimche on here both ran them, mine in a DA teg and his is a civic hatch and their B16 killers. I ran a 13.0 on a 60 shot w/an intake and a catback, he pulled a 13.2 i believe it was on a 50 shot same mods as well as 14.5 on the motor.

just get a b18c1...and you'll be happy...but broke.

B18C1 = waste of money unless you want an all motor car. I have read numerous threads on how worthless it is to boost a Type R motor. B18b or LS are the best bet if your looking for a low cost good motor just like tufte said. And I beleive the LS respons best to boost out of any Honda motor made... could be wrong though.

I guess it depends what your goals and things are, but the gsr motor has a better flowing head, and a better tranny.... although I do agree that the ls motor is a good platform to turbo off of, I just don't think it's fair to say the b18c1 is a waste of money, cause there are advantages
