There are plenty of people making well over 500+ WHP with the STi on the stock long block. While this isn't necessarily the most reliable, it's been done ALOT. There are also even more people making 400+ WHP safely and reliably on the stock long block. Now these are WHP ratings so figure whatever you want for drivetrain loss to come up with the crank horsepower ratings, but it's WAY over 400. The EJ series of motors are pretty stout in stock form. While they are not in the same ballpark as the 2jz, most motors aren't.

all bow down to the new subaru master.....it all depends on the tuner..... the most common problem with the ej257 motors is the ringlands blowing out caused by detionation, which would coinside with bad tunning.... and it also dosent help when the driver beats the piss out of the car constantly......

Jon, I suggest going over to www.nasioc.com and taking a look at some of the proven power posts on stock ej257's....even ej20's for that matter.

Weather.com says 60% chance on Saturday and 40% on Sunday. I suppose there is no racing in the rain. -

Weather.com is a liar. The meterologists at the station told me it would be scattered and nothing heavy if it does come. Lets hope the track stays dry long enough for me to get in a few runs.

No offense, but I trust weather.com and national weather service more than local meteorologists.
FWIW, I have a friend who was a meteorologist in New York and his opinion is that noone can accurately predict the weather more than 4 hours in advance...anything more than that is just a rough guess based on semi-predictable odds.

subaru master....so stating something means i'm a master?? i think his did seize up ...im sure it wasnt from bad tuning though, beings godspeed tuned the car....but thanks for the comment on the subaru master! idiot
