Well if he goes over by even a penny, then he's out. Got that Joel? I'm going to leave mine fully dressed.
This is very true Joel so watch out.I'm doing good so far:
$50 1989 Acura Integra LS
$100 Exedy Clutch/Pressure plate
$75 HKS Head gasket for boost apps.
$50 Bondo, tools/Random junkI bet I come out of this with the cheepest car. I'm trying for the most bang for the buck. Joel your doing great though! Good work so far.

i have a 94 sho that cost me total of 1250, can i enter that?
-
it costs less than 1500!
-
the rules were posted somewhere at the beginning of this thread (I'm too lazy to look them up myself), but if it meets that criteria I can't see why it wouldn't be allowed.
-
Do you have less than 1500.00 getting it to where it is now? Did you buy it before or after the challenge was made. The challenge was supposed to be directed towards not so fast cars or dare I say "ringers" that a person could pick up for el cheapo to enter the contest with. Putting or allowing ringers only takes away from the fun that this was supposed to create. Otherwise I've got a bud that owns a awd dsm that only paid 1200.00 for that would clean up if that's the criteria allowed.

i think the rules shouldve been something like the car cant cost more than $500 and then you get to spend 1k after that on mods. then something like each mod cant cost more than 100 bucks. that way itd be more of an actual 'junkyard' tournament. just my opinion.

correct me if I'm wrong, but the na DSM motor isn't a 4G63 is it? Will the turbo parts just swap over? I don't know, I'm not a DSM guy.cams are different and you gotta baby it. you really cant boost past 12 pounds. IDK, nick kinda talked me through this.
-
Shit dude, the Galant 2.0 SOHC motor is a 4G63. I think a N/A running 12 pounds would own, so I dont think boosting is an issue.
BTW, Can we sell parts that we got with our cars when we bought them like they do on Monster Garage? EX: My stocK FMIC and use the money I got from it for other mods? It would make the competition a lot mor einteresting.
Wes, I Dont really have any money left, so its impossible for me to cross the 1500 barrier. -
Rules as I see them:
-$1500 Dollars or less spent on the car all together(car and parts)
-Proof Of purches on every Item.
-Must Use real value Of items, even if someone game it to you.
-Must be originally a N/A 4 cylinder engine.
-Must appear street Legal.
-Must be done by the first Track day at I-drags in April.
-Must be a car. No Wrecked CBR's u bought for 1500 bucks.Projects started so far that I know of

I think you guys would have more participants if you didn't have a way too strict set of rules.
This is a good point, but to the tournament's defence this was created on the fly. We where just pulling rules out of our asses. We should talk about the rules and vote on them. I would like to have more cars be able to enter.
This tournament was created to give us local tuners somthing to do over the winter months. I was hoping that there would be alot more fabrication. Much like a speed based Monster Garage.
I do like the idea that Joel had:
"even if the part was given to you have to use the "cost" of the part."Lets come up with some rules guys and get some more cars in this!
