I think you guys would have more participants if you didn't have a way too strict set of rules.
This is a good point, but to the tournament's defence this was created on the fly. We where just pulling rules out of our asses. We should talk about the rules and vote on them. I would like to have more cars be able to enter.
This tournament was created to give us local tuners somthing to do over the winter months. I was hoping that there would be alot more fabrication. Much like a speed based Monster Garage.
I do like the idea that Joel had:
"even if the part was given to you have to use the "cost" of the part."Lets come up with some rules guys and get some more cars in this!

One rule I think that could be implemented would be if there are any go fast parts allready on the car, they need to be counted as parts, so you can't just buy a modded car for $1500 with $3000 in mods in it.
Oh yeah....INCLUDE V8'S DAMN IT!!!!
Also, used parts should not be counted as full price. Example, used intake that cost $200 for brand new, that you bought for $125 should be counted as $125, because thats what it's worth.

I think they were trying to make it as fair as possible and by eliminating old school muscle v8's it leveled the field a bit....if we're gonna let in V8's might as well allow forced induction as well.

cause if we had v-8s in it i d have the nova in.lol no i cant im over the budget way over, should be just 4- bangers with a limit of $1500.00 including price of the car thats what was put down a while ago, i think it keeps allfairness for everyone involved

or maybe have a v8 class too...then have the diff class winners race for bragging rights.

If you can find a working old school muscle car for under $1500 that is fast, I would like to see it. -

ok...how about a 79 plymouth volare w/ a hemi swapped in that was purchased for $1350 from a widow (ok, I co-own it, my dad and I went in together on it) who absolutely hated the car because her hubby spent all his time on it.

Wouldn't qualify....how much is ACTUALLY worth....thats what I though, DQ'ed!!! -
hard to determine worth of many muscle cars...a volare is worth probably less than that...the motor is worth thousands though
