WFPD...here we go
-
So, here is the story. I am pulling up to a stop light when a Dodge Dakota is power stalling it, smoke rolling off the tires with a big cloud hovering the stoplight. Then i see a cop drive by in front of me (me thinking the cop is chasing the dakota). Then, the light turns green so i go. I get about a block ahead onto 10th Ave E. when i see the same cop flying around the corner with his lights flashing. So im thinking WTF?!?. He pulls me over and trys to blame the whole burnout thing on me. I looked him right in the face and said " Are you crazy? My car is front wheel drive, and my e-brake doesnt even work. It is impossible for me to do that." He responds with " Any car can do a burnout." Then he goes on about how everything on my car is illeagal such as lights, exhaust, blinkers etc.... Then on top of it all he goes "Do you have an air freshener in your car? Cuz it smells like alcohol." Than i said "No i dont have an air freshener and i havent been drinking." He then tells me to step out of the car along with my passenger. As im getting out of my car he tells me to take my hands out of my pockets like im going to stab him or something. Then he gives me and my passenger a breathalizer. Which we passed of course. But as i was taking a breathalizer i was shaking. So he asked me if i had been doing any drugs. I said no its the medication I take. He shrugs it off gives me my license back and says have a good night. On top of it all it was just BS.
Sorry, I had to vent a bit.

I bounce at the OB on weekends, Last night (fri) I asked a guy to leave and he flipped on me, he starts swinging, hits me 2x so i grab him choke him, then carry him outside, where his two friends attack me, my fellow bouncers help out, we call the cops. 20 min later i'm facing possible assult charges for "injuries attained during a racially motivated use of excessive force".
Good thing the guys where so shitfaced they disapeared before the cops could ask if they wanted to press charges.Bottom line: Cops, in this town, = useless

the cops in this town prolly read all of this with a big fuckin grin on their face knowing that they have the power to do what they do, and abuse that power. i'll never forget the time when I just got into the skills and tech. center for class @ 750AM and as i'm walking into the building a cop pulls behind my car with his lights on and tells me to get back in my car...anyway, 20-30 min. later he proceeds to give me an exhaust noise fix it ticket. not only am i 20 minutes late for class, now i have to deal with this stupid ticket. i got it written off that night which was cool, but it still pisses me off that shit like that is up to the cops...hell, they seem to make shit up and get away with it...BS

i got pulled over once because a cop, (direct quote) "heard me drag racing". this was across the I-29 bridge. So he gave me a 300$ drag racing ticket. I called the city prosecutor and he said (direct quote) " ya, we got nothing on you." so it was dropped to speed care required, 60bux, no points. And all it took was a phone call.

I use to think that was the case, but the more stories I hear about loud/fast domestics being pulled over, the less I think that is true. The only time I get pulled over is if I drive like I shouldn't -
torbs wrote:

That is a load of BULL SHIT! I'm so sick of people whining about the local police singling out imports. They single out younger people regardless of if they are in a Camaro or an Eclipse. Why? Because younger people as a whole drive much more recklessly than mature adults. -
It could be much worse. Could be dealing with St. Paul police on University Ave on Saturday nights. They're starting to pull tasers on people at Porky's evidently.

The cops here don't single out Car types, just age brackets. I personally don't think it's about the recklessness of youth driving either. While they have studies showing that young drivers do drive faster (this is the "reckless" part that many studies use), they also have studies showing that older drivers (who have been driving for years) tend to "zone out" or lose focus when driving because it's a daily experience; they are also trying to prove this is the more likely cause of accidents.
i.e.: young people drive faster and when they have to swerve around a thirty-something women who just merged in front of him (at 25mph in the left lane of the interstate with the wrong turn signal on) the accident is more severe due to speed and is then placed in the youths lap.
Anyway cops target young drivers because it's an easy mark and very rarely do you see a 16-26 year old get a lawyer and persue justice.
Hell, my own parents wouldn't even believe it wasn't my fault the last time i was rear ended
