Play in deathmatch servers. Helps you with your aim and reaction time and all that shit.
aim maps are good to.
most of all, play with people that are better than you. yes, i will get the piss beat out of you, but hey.. what are you going to learn by beating noobs who couldnt kill some1 standing still.
I learned fast by scrimming a lot. When i first started playing CS:S, i was playing with the fuckin bitches who travel around the US to play. I dont think i got a kill agianst them for like 2 weeks... but hey. look where im at now

Serious question for you "pro gaymers" out there - ever care to stop and wonder how many hours you dump into playing an online game for competition? I mean really? I have no problems with gaming - I play them as a game - a source of entertainment - but I watch some people who do these "scrims" as you call them - and they just freak out - get so angry, don't you just take a step back and realize its a damn game. I've seen kids play like 40+ hours a week on these things while there in school - someone once asked me at my old job - How did you get your job so young (and these people were Help Desk reps - which is a fine job) but 90% of them played different games ALL the time, I replied - stop gaming and hit the books. But you must remember though I feel like an old man already.
As for the topic - I played Counter Strike Source and I suck, really badly, I suck at all those first person shooters (ok so maybe my previous statements are a bit biased) But I'd be down for a game of CS:S, I'm sure someone has an extra steam account!
