So all of u guys hate my car thats OK its not yours, its mine. So can you think of something better?
Rules- Must be two door, i'm not small and 4 door cars suck to get in an out of.
- Must be rear drive, I like to play in the snow and rain.
- Engine size does not matter but must make around 200 hp.
- Budget of $2500 as thats what i paid for the cat.
I'm serious about this too so please don't be stupid, I really want to see what some of you would have done differently. Hopefully you will come to understand why i love my cougar so much.

Ford Mustang, the late 80's and very early 90's toyota supra, late 80s Mazda RX7, Nissan 300zx, Thunderbird Super Coupe- way better than cougars. Chevy Camaro, Cadillac, BMW 318i or any old beemer, Mitsu 3000 GT. I am done. I am not hatin on your car but u wanted to hear. so there ya go

First of all, from what I have seen, its not your car that people aren't liking, its your know-it-all attitude and the fact that you are arguing with some of the more intelligent people on this board (Chad aka tqisking) about topics that they have researched and actually attempted with success.
Since you made this thread asking about cars, I'll throw in my selections:
Toyota MR2 turbo, 1990-1994 Subaru Legacy Turbo (this is a 4 door, just threw it in for the great motor and capabilities and I'm pretty sure you'd have no problems getting in/out of it), 1st Generation DSM Turbo (Mitsu Eclipse, Eagle Talon, Plymouth Laser....you said you like playing in rain/snow, trust me AWD is just as fun as RWD in those conditions). Toyota Corolla AE86, late 80's RX7, 300ZX, and there are more. Like others have said, WHP means nothing unless you factor in weight of vehicle as well. -
Why would you give a shit what others think anyways. Why would you want what they want. If your happy with what you have then keep it. I hear shit all the time about mine, you think I care what people say??. Do what you want to do not what they want you to do.......

I might be wrong on that 455 but i smelled bull. Besides its a friendly arguement if it seems otherwise thats not my intention.
Now on to your suggestions.DSMs are way to small i can barely get into them and when i do its uncomfortable at best.
Z/RX-7/Supra - There is no way i will find a clean decent running example of any of these for $2500 in this part of the country. Even if i did manage to find one and bought it if i had any problems with it i might as well scrap it because parts are ridiculous.
Mustang/Tbird - Foxes are nice but overpriced, the price for a good 5.0 fox has nearly doubled in the last 4 years. SN95's I have thought about but would never drive a V6 mustang, whats the point, and the GT's are not cheap. Oh and one other thing My car is the same freaking thing as a T-bird including most of the sheetmetal. Everything underneath is the same as a stang. Just mines nicer inside.
The corolla i never thought about but there again is the maintainance issue and where to find one.
I have owned two GM products and blown both of them up an 88 K1500, and a 3.8 buick, two of GM's "best" motors. So i would prefer to stay away from anything built by GM after like 1975.
Subaru Legacy, great cars not doubt but not really my style. Plus they can get really really expensive to fix. Say the motor quits i'm looking at a $1000 minimum bill plus or minus a few hundred right. My 5.0 quits i can rebuild it for under $500, or buy a used one for even less. Hell i could even drop in the 460 i've got in minot for $600.

This thread isnt about that, I could care less what they think I should have/could have done. I just wanted them to think about it a little and maybe see why I chose my cat. Also was interested because i'm still looking for a winter beater. -
Wouldn't your cougar be considered a winter beater? HA.
-
I am not saying anything bad about your cougar, its good that you enjoy what you drive. My question is, what do you honestly expect to buy for 2500 dollars that would be considered a "nice car" or a car for an "enthusiest" that is in mint condition and exactly what you want? there is a difference between 2500 dollar project cars and 2500 dollar cars.

Honestly, you are really misguided. An old Supra is expensive for replacement parts? IDK man, I bought a GOOD torque converter for my MKIV Supra and it was only $50. MKIV Supra's are WAY more expensive than MKIII's. Educate yourself with imports before saying that they are so expensive to fix that you might as well scrap them.

But with the Legacy Sport Turbo, I don't think you'll find a better motor for reliability AND power capabilities....closed deck block, turbo 2.2 liter w/ instant spool, awd from a company that is known for its superior AWD platform, TONS of cheap replacement parts available...unless you blow the motor (HIGHLY unlikely), then the ej22t block will set you back about $1600 from subaru w/ warranty. Replacement turbos....DIRT cheap, any WRX turbo will fit and they are very inexpensive.
As for the AE86, you probably won't have a whole lot of issues with the motor, afterall it is a Toyota.
But, like Bill said, who cares what the rest of us think...its your car, get what you want.

You came on here and the only real world experience anyone knows of you is "the shopping cart incident" which you made it a point to mention. So far, all you have proven is that when someone proves you wrong you try and twist the facts so that (in your mind) you are right. What kind of knowledge do you possess about the automobile? What have you built? Where did you attain your knowledge? How long have you been working on cars, and then what kind of cars have you worked on? I may be wrong, but it seems like the car you have worked on is your cougar and you may know a bit about Fords because of that.

Word! Just because you work at napa doesn't mean you can come on here, and know everything. You can act like you know what your talking about in your store, and on a cougar forum, but don't come on here acting like you know anything about imports. Your knowledge of prices for anything you have mentioned so far is severly jaded. IMHO, the car you drive is good for you, It fits your personality perfectly! Stick to your stocking parts at the auto parts store, and don't tell us how much shit costs for our own cars... -
i have no clue what napa you work at or anything like but people that work at napa(and other parts stores) should sometimes listen to there customers more. i had a guy at a parts store was arguing with my that the part i was looking for was in possible way the part i need, or was even where i said it was. even when i told him i am directly looking at the factory sercive manual produced by nissan and that is exactly what it was and where it was. but this isnt the place to rant about that, the thread turned that way so i fallowed, LOL
but subaru's are sweet cars. if i could afford it my jeep would be gone and i would have a 04+ wrx as a daily driver. i love subarus

I don't have to, I could switch my front bumpers and drive the car year round....but I have a company car that I can use for personal use and they pay my gas, so for the past 2 years, I've never bothered chancing someone else smashing into me.
