I just bought a LS block, that was supposedly completely rebuilt w/ forged high compression pistons and forged rods, and I want to take it apart and look at it before I pay for the rest of it. I don't want to have to do anymore machining work, so how far can i strip it down withoutdoing to much work. I just wanna make sure the parts used in it are what he said...

well, you can for sure take the head off. ass well at the oil pan. if you can read part numbers if there is any dont really need to go farther unless you cant get the info you need(i know my pistons have the part numbers on the top cant remember on the rods), unless you want to add parts. but im not a honda person, so ya. talk to the guys at sls or a machine shop.

yeah pull the oil pan, u should be able to see the rods and bottom of piston's (typicaly where the brand and or parts numbers are) check part numbers and see exactly whats in it

cool, we'll see if it has JE 12:1 pistons and eagle rods like he said. I don't know if I want N/A, but at the price I paid... well, i got it dirt cheap. ITR head brand new from honda w/ 0 miles, that block, LS cable tranny, clutchmasters 6 puck, and lightened flywheel for 1500 bucks.

I would assume that you don't need my block now?? or do you want it for parts and whatever?? Good buy by the way. as long as everything checks out.

You better check that ITR head and make sure it's real, they cost around 3k new from Honda.

If everything checks out, GOOD BUY! Hat's off to you.
