oem honda headgasket

does anyone have any idea what a stock honda headgasket is good to for power? i blow headgaskets every other week cause of timing issues and have always used cometic. but they are getting spendy and im thinking about going back to oem. but when im tuned for more power i dont want to have to worry about it.

You should probably fix the timing issues before you throw a new headgasket on there.

re-time the car, go to OEM honda gaskets, and then use NEW ARP head studs, torqued down in 3 steps (20, 40, 65).

well its not base timing, its timing in boost so it needs to run to tune it. new ARP's? i thought you could resuse them

ARPs are reusable. I myself have never run anything but OEM headgaskets. Hondas metal gaskets are the shit.

ARPs are re-useable, but I'd only trust them 2 times, won't this be the 3rd or 4th? And for timing, either upgrade your ems or if you want to keep the afc, then get a BTM.

How much boost are you running?? I ran 7 lbs with no change in timing, what are you using for tuning??? Cuz anything like crome or whatever should take care of that, and just work your way up slowly while taking care of the timing at each level

Just put JB weld around all of the coolant passages and around the cylinders. Then bolt your head on. I guarentee you won't have a headgasket blow on you again. jk

dont know on the boost. but it was 10+ and he has an AFC

He's running 12 on AFC. Just turn the boost down to 9 or 10... a boost controller is 40 bucks...

you can turn the boost down. if thats with no boost controller. then differant WG or spring is needed.

i have a boost controller, im not asking how to not blow a head gasket just wondering if oem will hold.

yes, OEM has been proven to hold 500+ hp many many many times
