Real Owner of Camaro

I've ridden in a 10 second car!

Sorry, but I have to chime in on this due to my first hand experience at being a dumass...
When I first got into the scene when I was 15, I had HUGE plans for my DSM...I wanted to run 11's stock everything minus bolt ons. Little did I know at the time how much work is involved in actually accomplishing it. I always told myself I would do it...then it blew up, (all the bearings went at once, main and rod)...so the car sat, and just because it ate all my money and then some, I had no ambition to finish it ever again.
Bottom line man, you are not gonna have a 10 second car for a LONG time. Unless you have VERY sufficient funds to access you are SOL. Not only does a car like that cost a lot of $ to build, but a lot to maintain. I talked to GSR for awhile the other day and it's almost nuts how much money can be spent on a car like that. But it's his hobby and passion, that's why he does it.
As I said, get rid of the 10 second car attitude...shoot for something in the 14-13 second range 1st. Cars in that range are MUCH more reliable and can be daily driven...hell, even some 12 second cars are daily driven. I'm sure there are faster but that's beside the point.
Get what car you want and do what you want to it, but make sure that you have a backup for WHEN (not if) something breaks. That means buckup funds and a backup car.
On another note, if I were you, I wouldnt touch a DSM (even though I have to admit Brian's has been one of the most reliable one's that I have seen) and get the Civic Si...bolt on a turbo kit (with good tuning of course) and run reliable low 13's all day long and still have potential to get 30mpg...thats just my opinion.

You want a 10 sec car and have to pay your own tuition? Not impossible but, highly unlikely. If your psrents helped then, maybe. You're just not being realistic.Yup, another Nova in the making.
see my rents dont help me with shit, they flat out told me to my face that they wish i were dead, to go to hell, wish i never were born. so basically im on my own without help. got no help from family members, friends, no one. It kinda helps that I have a certain amount of money coming in every 5years but that doesnt go far at all. sry if im sounding unrealistic, but thats the truth.

I didnt even include the expenses with my life that no one knows about and that racks up to atleast $3,000

Scrap the car plans, get good grades, get a good job and work your ass off. you wont be thinking $10k is a lot for a car anymore and you'll show your parents.
Otherwise, get "C's" in college, work at Home Depot and live in an apartment all your life wishing you had a $3k for a new beater...

Do you want to take advice from this man???Honestly, Brian's car is faster than any Civic si around here, is all wheel drive, better looking than a Civic, and hasn't had a single problem yet. It's just a better car in every way.

I wish it was that easy to get into college, but it's not. But I need a new car cuz this Camaro isn't reliable, Hell I'll sell it to anyone for a grand..ANY TAKERS!

Burthwick you are a dumbass. You do drive around revving your car up. I agree with instigator when he says he burns out at every stoplight, I have witnessed it myself, and don't put this on some other Camaro, because I know it's you. I know for a fact that you are not a very good driver. Why dont you tell everyone about the little "drifting" incident with the curb. You drive around like you think you are some badass in your shitty V6 Camaro. Don't say that you think it is shitty either. In your mind it is badass, you started thinking it was shitty when everyone on here told you it was shitty. You are dumb.

ya if you are having trouble getting into school, put school way before carsboth can be done though...one person inparticular comes to my mind when it comes to going to school and having a kick ass car...I truely respect him for that.
It is possible and don't let people tell you it isn't...but DO NOT let it interfere with actually being able to afford school and get good grades. As soon as that line is crossed you are done for.
