I would like to see a third party candidate take office, I feel this country is stable and balanced enough to support one, and would probably do much to take care of the little things that the bush admin is overlooking...but only for one term. then back to norm.

Article 2 establishes the second of the three branches of government, the Executive. Section 1 establishes the office of the President and the Vice-President, and sets their terms to be four years. Presidents are elected by the Electoral College, whereby each state has one vote for each member of Congress. Originally, the President was the person with the most votes and the Vice-President was the person with the second most, though this is later changed. Certain minimum requirements are established again, such as a 35-year minimum age. Presidents must also be a natural-born citizen of the United States. The President is to be paid a salary, which cannot change, up or down, as long as he in is office.
don't believe me? Check http://www.usconstitution.net/constquick.html for more details. Trust me, I've researched age requirements for political office fairly extensively.

I haven't seen anyone yet that would conceivably run that I would get too excited over. I won't discuss dems because I can't think of any I'd support.
For the reps, I'd hope it's not McCain, he's a wuss on immigration and I disagree with him on a lot of things. I heard a rumor that Newt is considering running, I'd vote for him. We really need to get this resurrection thing figured out and bring Reagan back. :icon_rr: -
Newt (or Reagan) would probably get my vote, depending who the left puts up...I really liked Reagan and (take watergate out of the equation) Nixon. I don't know what it is about Newt, but there is something about him I like.

That's who I'm leaning towards personally. What do you guys like about Obama? You find the usual spew on his web site (I'm for good education, I'm for good jobs, etc.. ). I did some searching on his voting record and it appears that he is anti-gun, he said he is for universal health care, he is for allowing gay/lesbian to get married, etc. Seems to be typical leftist stuff??? He does seem to be a good public speaker, and he talks about bringing the country together... but his votes I don't care for.

It's not who I like the most, but more who I think will fuck us the least. To me it's probably going to be just like the last election. I'll probably be picking what I see as the lesser of two evils.
No matter who wins, WE LOSE.

Got this in my inbox this morning, it sounds like the usual republican responses, only instead of the word "Hitler" subsititute Saddam
