I just don't know how much I trust creatine. I recall hearing something about not knowing the long term (20+ years) side effects of large doses of it and possible hazards of using it..

Do any local stores like GNC sell the drinks or pills?
I have never hurd anything bad about creatine, infact the army tested it on their soldiers. They only got positive effects; IE more muscle, less BF%.

I have been using creatine since I started lifting 3 1/2 years ago, and never had a problem. But to each his own.

Just take in plenty of protein and you will be fine.:icon_thumleft:

If you get into the workout routine and focus on cardio + diet you should have no problem losing fat. If you don't care so much about gaining muscle than worry more about the cardio aspect of your workout regemin and you'll be set. You probably won't even have to really eat LESS, just focus on eating more protein and healty fats and less saturated fats/carbs and the weight should fall off. If that doesn't get you to where you want to be then try a supplemental dietary pill or something..i just bought 2 trial doses of SPIKE pills, i'll tell you what those do for me energy wise after I pop them tomorrow.

Methodless obviously will be able to help you the most with this though, as well as reading up on the subject, which i'm sure you've done.

In all honesty Joel....healthy breakfast (big breakfast), LOTS AND LOTS OF WATER, absolutely zero soda/mcdonalds/other fast food, eat salad with every meal, eat HEALTHY meals, again, lots of water, lots of cardiovascular activities.

Thats about it. Do those things and you will lose inches, guaranteed.

Yea I'm also gonna start trying to get into shape myself. I just need to lose about 15 lbs or so and put on a little muscle. I wish I could afford a gym membership tho.

Joel, When/If you lift, focus on lower weight/higher reps...

At first I did it for fun, then I realized I made the investment and had to do it!

                Unbalanced Muscles....

My years of being on a bicylce a couple hours a day has turned my body to a mutant freak..... this winter is back to the GYM and yoga 2 twice a week to get unused muscles back on par. Chondromalacia is killing my Knees, as my outter quads are freakin twice the size they should be in comparison to my inners.

                  OK, bunch of things:

Spike = Hype. Depending on your body type and your workout pattern many people experience a drop in blood sugar after working out, or a reluctance to get going because their body isn't up and running yet pre workout...anything that will raise this ie: Rockstar/Redbull, metabolism booster or, My personal favorite: candy, will help eliminate that "down" feeling post/pre workout and aid in the systhesis of protien to rebuild. It works, but so do skittles...

If you really want something that'll get you motivated, try NOXplode. I'd swear by it.

Cellmass Is not a MONO-hydrate, Its an estersized (sp) creatine, faster body use and less water retention. Not as much longterm effect as your body never "cycles" into using an "limitless" source like Celltech, but none of the really crappy side effects that come with monohydrates

ANDRO: NEVER EVER EVER TOUCH THIS STUFF UNLESS YOU WANT SOME FORM OF CANCER OR enlarged organs etc.

The longterm effects of creatine are yet to be determined as creatine has only been readily available for the last 15 years.... worse case scenario going: you'll have to supplement creatine because your body lowered it's production levels.

On fat loss: Eat more frequently, 5-7 healthy meals per day, 1 gallon of water per 65 lbs of bodyweight per day, high (er) fiber than usual. Increase protien intake to at least 1 g of protien per lb of body weight. Cardio will help. Lift as heavy as you can.

On weight loss: Same as above, add INTENSE cardio, and change heavy to light weight work.

JOEL: If you need a plan call me: 701-361-8783 (cell) I would be glad to sit down and help you figure these things out.

I'm with you on the Whole biking thing only i'm a 20"er. MY father is quite accomplished on the road racing and his muscle balance is so strange. I suppose if you specialize it's bound to happen though.

No that would be ridiculous and inefficient....lol

I am thinking something more like a Nomad or Intense 6.6 . Something light weight I can still beat the hell out of, and still pedal all day on, and be fine to do some shuttles when I am going through withdrawls....VPP owns me. Or something silly like a Preston FR damn xc MN trails.

Good idea. The motivation should come from yourself wanting to change though.... Same with any of life problems. Not to get all philosophical and shit.

Most of the younger kids on this site have not hit the mid twenties brick wall of lost metabolism and dont realize how hard your weight can become to manage. Also with temptations like fast food, esp in North Dakota, which lacks any sort of healthier alternatives, are hard to ward off. SUPERSIZE ME is a great documentary on how bad fast food is for a person.

What does everyone think of the guy who has basically only eaten Big macks for the past 20 some odd years?....

Well let me say this in reference to the spike pill....I usually need a huge mug of coffee in the morning (i hate coffee too so I lace it with about 4 heaping scoops of nesquik) and even then about 3/4 through Calc i'll start feeling drowsy. This morning I popped a SPIKE pill and skipped the coffee, didn't once feel tired, and felt quite mentally alert compared to usual...

                                          About the Cellulose
Microcrystalline Cellulose is hardly a new product. As a naturally occurring substance, it has proven to be stable, safe and physiologically inert

and the other products all follow these same descriptions
