You know; Cops/Police probably know more than we think (just like how sometimes parents know more than we think, etc. etc.) There probably is an office as a member on this site, but I doubt he visits often & or has much or if any reason to visit. As far as all the cop comments go, their strategy is flawed to the common person. They hit up the small traffic violations which lead to bigger/better arrests at times. For ex: 1 headlight out (easy warning at most times or maybe a fix it ticket) next thing you know, they got a DUI, or.. Pulled over for speeding, next thing you know, the cops are finding 10lbs of maryjane in the trunk. But to the common person, your being interrogated when likely innocent.. I'm sure for most of us, one of the first things they will all tend to ask us (if this is towards the evening) is if we have been drinking.
But, I do think they hand out a lot of retarded traffic violation tickets.. -
Well said. Most people sit and bitch about how the police should be cracking down on "real crimes" or drugs or whatever. You gotta catch the guys somehow and traffic stops and seemingly minor things are the best way to find info and find people who are doing bigger crimes than just speeding.

out of all these stories people have told i dont believe one of them was about one of us whining about getting caught with something else, fine pull someone over but dont be an ass about it, im cool with little things yeah its against the law, but everytime i get a cop saying smart ass comments and there is no need for that

I've only been pulled over 2x, recieved 1 ticket when I wasn't even pulled over. 1st time I was pulled over it was some military-type dickhead from the Moorhead PD who said I should lose my license for driving 35 in a 30 (speedo said 31). He was a fuckwad and I hope he gets shot. 2nd time I did roll a stopsign, the guy was very nice, and he let me go. That dickhead that pulled me over the first time left a bad taste in my mouth though thats for sure. I got a ticket for doing doughuts in a parking lot, exhibition driving, also deserved it.
For the most part, I feel 90% of the PD is nice and I do think they deal with a lot of shit. It just seems that no matter what your job, if you get powers you normally wouldn't your ego tends to bloat, and you try to push the limits. Not just the police but politicians, judges, etc. If you get power it's human nature to try abuse it or get more of it. I want to do a ride along though just to see what police have to go through. It sucks for the nice ones just because you remember the assholes more than you remember the nice ones. -
very true there are good cops out there, im still strong on my main point though, but nobody is gona tell any good stories in this thread, but like one time i got pulled over and was speeding and it was a nice guy and he gave me tcket but we still talked for a few minutes and was a nice guy and i jsut apoligizied and shook his had everyhitng when he left so yeah there not all bad but the bad ones defianbtly give em a bad name for all

I have had my fair share with the law. Basically the cops are all out there to do there jobs. Some cops take advantage of there jobs. Others do what they think is right in some situations. Cops are not always out to get you like you think they are. Just think, if the cops werent out patrolling all the time then a bank could get robbed and innocent people could get killed and by the time the cops showed up the criminals would be gone. Now, there are certain cops that just like to give tickets because they can. Like my situation with me being busted for marijuana. I beleive that I was pulled over for no reason. The police responded to a call because there was a suspicious vehicle in the area. That suspicious vehicle was described to be a black new model Grand Am with dark windows, blue headlights, and a loud exhast. Obviously not me. But when they saw my car it had blue headlights and a loud exhaust so they figured I was somehow affiliated with this person. They pulled me over because I had no license plates. But my registration tag was in my window. Either way I got in trouble for doing something wrong and there is nothing I can do about it. I'm not bitching about the police because of what I did. I know it was wrong. Cops pull cars over that are doing "wrong" things. But sometimes cops pull cars over because they can. I have had plenty of tickets I didnt deserve and plenty of tickets I did deserve. So, I beleive that there are some cops out there that do there jobs right and some cops out there that abuse the privelages they have.

i think you deserved to get pulled over for buying that civic dx in the first place!!!!
-
ha just mesing with ya man, no hard feelings, i have bought way to many stupid cars myself as well
-
Police can stop a vehicle if they have reasonable cause. youngin2nr, look at it this way, the police can't be sure that the person that called in the suspicious vehicle can identify a make/model correctly. Both vehicles are cars, blue headlights and loud exhaust. If I were in his position I would probably have done the same. One can also assume that it was probably obvious that you were driving under the influence as well which gives them more reason to pull you over based on your driving.
