The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention has sent a letter to General Motors (GM) criticizing an ad that shows a perfectionist assembly line robot dreaming about jumping off a bridge after dropping a bolt. The group said the spot may encourage people to consider suicide as a solution to their problems. The group demanded that GM apologize, not air the spot again and remove it from its website.
"We wouldn't see this ad around cancer or heart disease," says Robert Gebbia, executive director. "Why's it OK to make fun of mental illness or depression?"
While stopping short of a full apology to outraged gays, the maker of Snickers has dumped from TV broadcast and from its website a Super Bowl ad that shows two men who accidentally kiss over a Snickers bar.
The ad was killed late Monday after several gay organizations complained to Snickers-maker Masterfoods USA, a division of Mars, that the ad was offensive to gays.

Oh god... everybody needs to lighten up
i dont get how you can equate the death of a robot to the death of a person, and i highly doubt that somebody woudl commit suicide cuase they saw a gm robot do the same thing... uhh yeah if they do, they deserve to die.
and i thought the snickers commercial was funny, it wasnt ripping on gay people at all, but rather showing the insecurities of heterosexual men

I missed those commercials but just watched both of them and honestly, theres NO way anyone could seriously be offended by the sickers commercial, and certainly no way that the robot commercial could cause someone else to commit suicide -
