I dont know what happened but I got an error message type thing today that s aid my computer was going into high contrast mode or something, now every color in internet explorer has changed, and it doesnt display any dark colors. anyone know how to turn this off?

You probably turned this on via one of the accessibility options keyboard shortcuts. It wasn't an IE popup so much as a windows one.
I'll assume you're using Windows XP. To set it back tos omething normal:
Start->Control Panel->Accessibility Options
Go to the "Display" Tab. Uncheck "use high contrast"
Additionally, you may want to manually set the theme in XP using the "Display" control panel and the "Themes" tab.
