Spring is just around the corner and I know I'm not the only one with the fever to get out and ride! What are you guys riding this year? What's done to your bike? Thoughts on part/brands/gear? Etc, etc.
I've had the itch really bad these last few weeks. I got my '03 R6 just as the season was coming to an end last year and didn't get much of a chance to ride it. I picked up new fairings for the left side of the bike recently as the fairings that came with the bike were pretty scratched up. Hopefully it'll look brand new again.
Anyone have suggestions on a good slip on exhaust that isn't too expensive?

How bout some Vance & Hines, there nice and cheap............:D
My bike is completely stock more for bar hopping and getting out on the road for some fun. But yeah as soon as it is above 30 degrees I'm taking it out of the shop and ride around our lot here and try not to dump it.:icon_cheese: -
Yoshimura is always good for an all around pipe. Not particularly loud, but they have a more expensive line and a less expensive line, so you can choose per your budget. They have a great tone too.
IMHO V&H is junk and I may pay you not to put that on.
Akrapovic is a top notch(expensive) pipe.

im planning on either getting a 07 R6 or a 07gixxer.

Ill have a bike this season, I don't want to spend more than $4k so I'm thinking something like a Triumph Speed Triple or an Sv650 or something like that, used of course. Also I've been looking at Ninja EX250s, they just seem like they would be alot of fun, but I would prolly get made fun of eh? Im fixing a 79 CB550 for my girlfriend so hopefully that bike will be out and about too.

For that kinda cash, I'd look into late 90s Honda CBR900RRs, or late 90s Suzuki GSXR 600s/750s. In fact Kelly Mullaney has a beautiful 97-99 GSXR 600 for sale right around that price. -
Yeah, thing is though I don't really want a supersport or a repli-racer. I want something with good low end grunt (below 8k) and easy to ride around town. Also I don't need to be able to go 160mph
for my own saftey and anyone else around me. I'm not really the guy you are going to see pulling wheelies at 80mph down university in shorts and a tshirt either, you know. I think a naked bike is more my style. Another option is an Interceptor 750 sport crusier. I'd like to keep it around the 600cc area. If I got anything like a 900RR or anything, it would just be too much of an invitation for asshattery! -
Stand ups all summer on the 06' Gixxer 1000. Anyone heard of frame troubles on any suzuks last year??? My frickin frame busted right behind the induction cowl. They're suppose to warrenty it. Still the bike was never laid down or slammed down from wheelies. Kinda weird, it happened within 1400 miles of being new and I babied that thing until 900 miles beleive it or not. I rode my 954 more carelessly than this thing and that stayed soild (maybe thats just a Honda thing). Anyway I'll be coming to the FM area with my buddy Jesse this riding season to see if we can keep up! LOL But seriously we'll standem' up!!!
Oh just wondering if anyone knows Dustin from fargo, he rides a R6 Raven, taller, peirced up and is in the gaurds?? J/W -
