Goddamn Liberal Congress...

Ya unfortunatly there isnt a whole lot we can do about it, just vote decent people into the system. For example, NO Hilary in any form of office, as well as pretty much any official in Maryland, New York and California (These states have some pretty bad gun laws, and always are leading the nation in trying to ban them), and also the UN, they are probably one of the worst influences on gun control. Only other option is if it happens fight back...

I'm a proud democrat and so is most of the rest of my family, but that's just ridiculous. I could see where they're coming from in wanting to ban assault weapons, but like bubba said, the people who do legally own them have to go through all kinds of tests/screens/paperwork to own them. If they're banned, law abiding people won't have them, but criminals sure as hell still will.

the democrats are just making plans with the terrosits so they can own us all!!! :), oh and mabey my post came out wrong, i love guns! i hate democrats!

Hasn't anyone learned from what happend in Britain and Australia. Their crime rates skyrocketed after they banned their guns.Yet Canada (who has strict gun laws and is probably the nation most similar to the USA) has very low amounts of gun crimes committed. I'm still not in favor of an out-right ban, but I have no problems with background checks on anyone buying "assault" weapons.

Also, you do realize that the Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act of 1994 was a bipartisan effort, right? And that the majority of Republican Governors and Mayors support the bill as well? As do many in law enforcement.
(this coming from a guy who owns a couple AK47's)

The differences between America and Korea is like comparing apples to oranges...Korea also doesn't have a 2nd Amendment.

Some other countries where in the past Gun Control "worked". Nazi Germany, Communist Russia, and Italy when Mousillini was in charge. I think we all know the types of things that went down there. The Holocaust and Stalin killed off like 20 million of his own people. Maybe if they would have had a way to defend themselves it would have been different. I have this great picture and quote having to do with this at home somewheres. An unarmed country is totally defenseless with the government, who knows if someday we end up having a wack job president, most of Germany thought Hitler was a great guy at first, but look what happens....

plus more then half the country is grass and snow waste lands, anywho how can there be crime when all of them are either drunk, busy playing hockey or pluging each other in the butt and getting married

Whats worse is how they are describing "assault weapons" Has anybody else looked at this? damn near anything thats not a blackpowder would be illegal. Its just ridiculous. Unfortunately this isnt the first attempted assault weapon ban, and it wont be the last. This is the same stuff that us law abiding gun owners have to fight constantly.
