Engine problem.. -
Engine problem..I don't want it turbo'd. I have heard many ppl already tell me to scrap it and find something better but this isn't/won't be a daily driver. I'm looking to restore it and just cruise around a few days out of the year. Fiancé picked this car and wanted it. Personally I would've went for a 93-94 300zx.
Anyway. It's over at braatens in grand forks, they looked it over and said the low end isn't damaged and only needs new heads and a few other parts. Timing is fine, he said the timing belt slipped and caused the damaged. I don't know much about what's goin on. Slowly learning. Just something doesn't add up. The radiator smells like gas and I have no idea what would cause that.

Engine problem..Problem somewhat figured out. Cracked heads, bad oil pump bad water pump. Time for complete overhaul. Dunno if going turbo is a good idea or bad idea. Any suggestions???

Engine problem..Also....Check the fluids, radiator wreaks like it was overheated, and no shavings in the oil. Oil is CLEAN!. Oil change was done before this happened to the previous owner.

Engine problem..Just bought this car for dirt cheap, and right price for the problems I knew ahead of time. Lifters are shot, previous owner said the car WANTS to turn over without hesitation. We personally haven't tried turning it over, I had a buddy of mine look at it and he said he would get a look inside the engine but just doesn't have the time since he's backed up with customers vehicles. Not a problem. Just lookin for some insight from others personal experience with lifters. I can say I've never had a problem with bad lifters, so this is new to me. I'm aware that they do TICK or PENCIL TAP when they are needing to be replaced. I would like to be pointed in the right direction where I can get some good deals for internals or just a full engine swap. It is NON turbo!
Plans:
Stripping out everything and building from the ground up, inside and out.
Tranny is an automatic, thinking about going towards a 5speed manual...This is the fiance's car and she is just leaving me with the engine situation(s). I do however, want to keep the same engine because it only has 140k. If it's impossible to keep the same engine without any future problems then I guess I have to go with the swap.Any ideas or help is greatly appreciated.

New guy here...Names Paul, been on here years ago, just got a 95 gs non turbo, undergoin full restoration, possible engine swap with tranny swap as well...could use some ideas if anyone has any....thanks for welcome to the site.
