Chip, not really about this thread, but I saw the Nissan parked over at your building the other night, and almost stopped in to say hi. we own an office building in the industrial park and I always see you there, If you ever see a black Colorado or a white miata rolling through, and a plump gentleman(myself) gets out and says hi, don't be alarmed. I'de love to go for a ride in this thing sometime.

Just PM or email me. I'm at work late frequently.

C'mon, he has to justify spending a fair amount of money on his little gadget to find out his quarter mile times even though he has no interest in drag racing. Maybe he just wants to find out exactly how fast he can run out to get groceries so he can optimize his Jersey Shore watching time, who knows. Sounds like a job for Cagney & Lacey, Jake & The Fat Man, Magnum P.I., Mike Hammer, Columbo, Mannix, Jim Rockford, Shaft or any other detective with enough balls to take the case.

Another ass. No wonder this forum has little or no activity.

^^^We're just going to have to agree that we disagree. Bench racing is done quoting outside sources without being in a vehicle. I actually got in my car and produced those times. Whether you trust me or the instruments I used are the only debatable issues. I have wasted too much of my time on this thread.

Considering there's very little activity here and I'm not into modifying my cars I have little to add other than the occassional new car purchase.

Where did your old GTR end up at? I've only seen a few out cruising but haven't gotten to see one up close yet. Once I graduate from college I'm definitely considering picking one up a few years down the line. The prices have dropped a bit and they'll definitely be a steal performance to price wise. There will just a difference between being able to buy one and being able to afford one. haha

I traded it on the new one at Maplewood Nissan. If you're ever wanting give the it a spin, PM me. It's broke in now.

Racelogic uses satellites and much more accurate processing units. Its equipment is standard for practically every car review publication.

Is this car forum always this hostile? I belong to 4 others(nagtroc, m3forum, m3post, mbworld.org) and never run into this kind of vitriol.

What's the difference between your Xbox, i mean Vbox, and my app again?

I have no idea what app to which youre referring.
Phone acceleration meters are notoriously bad, to the point of meaningless.
Racelogic specializes in car performance montoring systems. Most major Car publications use their product.
Why do you have to be such a douche bag in the way you ask a question?

It's my thread, I'm the OP. And defending the Vbox against what? No one has offered anything but snide commentary.

What's funny is that its you drag strip guys are the ones that are getting your panties in a twist. Like I said, I couldn't care less about a drag strip. The timing was close enough to give a fair indication of what the car would do at one though.
Just threw out some initial readingsi on an accurate piece of equipment right after my car came out of its break in.

^^^where did I say it ran at a drag strip? It definitely went a quarter mile. Several times. Timed. Measured.
Are you saying I'm lying about that?

I'm gonna agree with Zac on this one.

Until the time is run at a legit dragstrip with legit timing equipment, the vehicle hasn't run that time.

Now, it may run the same time at the track. If it does, congrats.

I don't care what a vbox, gbox, xbox, gtech or vtec says.

BTW.....low 11s will prolly get you into the Quick 8.

    So I assume you're questioning all the benchmarks(0-60, 0-100, 1/4) I gave then?

Me thinks its you that has his panties in a bunch. Did I say it was at a drag strip? Did I say I wanted to be placed on anyones drag times list?
No. I said I ran a quarter mile with a 1 ft rollout with a Vbox. If you think the instrument is wrong back it up. I don't think its wrong. It has had consistent reads since I bought it (on a variety of vehicles) and they're usually very close to most conservative reviews (ie none of the Car and Driver fudging to make a car seem faster than it is).
Now, do I think its as accurate as being measured at a drag strip? No. But it's pretty close and gives a pretty clear indication of what the car would do if it were at a one.
I am confused as to your gripe. Is it that the instrument is unreliable? Or that the car isn't that fast?

It isn't moot because the equipment is accurate. And Mr brown was doubting and hating.
    Why make snide comments then?
And you're more than welcome to take a spin.
Frankly I don't even care about quarter mile times. I just threw it out there because its a standard performance benchmark.
The quarter is for one dimensional cars .

Do you know what they did in the new GTR, to solve the old GTRs transmission failures?

The tranny problems were overblown. They were mainly due to abuse. The problem was that the transmission cost $20k. So when people repeatedly launched the thing and it blew up it was a spendy problem and turned a bitched at Nissan. Nissan got sick of this removed the LC on the 2010 and 2011.
They reintroduced it on the 2012. It has a bunch of monitors and won't let you launch the car if transmission oil temp. is too high. Once the temp falls back into an acceptable range it can be launched again.
