Man, taking it to the twin cities is a haul. I don't want to start any bashing, so can someone give me any good experiences with the two forum sponsors, Tintmaster and Straigtline Specialties?

Ruthless351. Yes, I've checked the gas cap but I think I'll just replace the stupid thing since it could be a cheap fix for the P1400 code.

treimche. You mentioned a trick for the 2nd O2 sensor. If it isn't installed what can I do to stop the P0420 code? I'm not sure what emissions sensors have been removed and what just wasn't hooked up... If I purchase DSMLink or the AEM do I still need to worry about the codes?

GnArKiLl. Unfortunately my home garage is somewhat limited in tools (no compression tester), which is good because I only know enough to be dangerous.

Yes, it is the 6 bolt motor. If I'm ready to spend the cash what size injectors should I go for? I'm not very familiar with the AEM, how does it compare to DSMLink? Is the AEM really $1900 (ouch)?

It was pretty much a hack job. There's no cat installed and I from what I can see the 2nd O2 sensor isn't installed anywhere. The upgrades include an EVO III 16G Turbo, TurboXS Boost Controller, EVO III O2 Housing, Greddy BOV, Walbro 255 Fuel Pump, Apexi N1 Downpipe and Turboback Exhaust.

I can handle the general maintenance stuff, but there's more damn vacuum tubes under that hood than I know what to do with...

Thanks for all the welcomes. Here's the story, the previous owner swapped engines, bought the following upgrades (check sig) and ran out of money. The car has potential, but needs injectors and an ECM upgrade (I'm thinking DSMLink). The body is stock for now, I need to get the thing running right, then I'll work on the exterior.

Who do recommend to DSM tuning in the Fargo area?

I bought this car after someone swapped the engine and added some upgrades and couldn't get it to run right. If I clear the error codes it runs good for a couple of days, then starts to run like crap again. It drops to lean and acts like it is running on 3 cylinders when cruising at 60. If I drop it into neutral for a few seconds it returns to stoic and runs fine for a while.

Here are the codes. P0420, Cat Effic Below Threshold (Bank 1). P0455, EVAP Ctrl System Gross Leak Detected. P1400, Mfr Controlled Aux Emissions Controls. P0300B, Random/Multiple Misfires Detected.

Any ideas?

Just wanted to say "Hi" and say how glad I was to find a local forum. I have a 98 Eclipse GST Spyder that has had some upgrades done, but it still needs some work. Of course since it's a DSM, that goes without saying I have a couple of questions, but I'll post them in the "Car Tech" forums.
