Howdy. I recently ran into some engine trouble and may have damaged the heads in my 65 mustang. Right now, the car is sitting at Ford and they are finding out exactly what's wrong with it. I'm just doing some preliminary research in case the heads are bad.

Opinions on what would work best with a 4.7 289 with an Edelbrock high rise intake, holley 650cfm carb, and I have no idea what else. I'm assuming stock internals and heads. I'm just going for something that would increase performance a little bit. I'll post up more when Ford lets me know what I need fixed; just want ideas.

And I know that the biggest problem with a 289 is that it is a 289. I don't care. As long as the engine isn't toast, I'm going to try to keep it. It should be cheaper.

^^ agreed. just because you "never" went through a "rice" stage. didnt you buy ebay coilovers? lol. i am not sure exactly why these things were cool, maybe because it personalized the car, instead of copying everyone else. unlike the current jdm/usdm fad.

pretty much. lol. i am really thinking about returning the interior to black though. at least the doors. who knows though?

the car is at hamline with us. Cat has a parking pass.

And yes. the car will remain extreme rice until i get a better car. then it goes to my little sister, or she will get something else.

Ya, I know that i have 4x4 status the mustang is in storage for the winter, and the mini is sitting out at the lake cabin. I painted it so it wouldnt rust. but there is no way that i have enough money to finish it.

I also no longer have that horrible long shifter. Revo SS FTW! and most of interior is back in. I believe that im going to go back to black.

thats kinda what i was planning. unfortunately, the money needed for just the kit is crazy. Minimania actually makes a kit for a k or a d swap. the mini would be freaking crazy fast. or have no traction. lol. so much fun

Hey. There are most likely a few people who already know me here. I drive a silver 01 civic with the rice lights in back, silver rims and blacked headlights. Ya. currently i am a freshman attending Hamline University in St. Paul, but I'm coming back to Concordia next semester, so i may see people this winter.

I usually drive around a 65 mustang in the summer.

I also have a project which will never be finished and i will most likely have to buy a new one. I have a 61 mini that I'm going to convert to Honda, but i will most likely end up buying a new mini (mk2 or 3) just because they look a little better. (call bs if you want, lol. most people do. Hell, i even call bs on myself. wait till the summer though...)
