We have Culligan's water softener along with the R.O. for a seperate drinking water spout at the kitchen sink, along with the fridge getting another line for crystal clear water and ice.
But I also live in West Fargo, where the water is absolutely terrible unless it is filtered some how.
When I lived in Fargo, I got used to using a Brita or Pur fridge pitcher filter system, which worked great, but had to replace filters a lot. The Culligan RO requires filter replacement every year for 2 of them, and every other year for the other one. Filters cost between $48-68 per year, and are extremely easy to replace on your own. And that is total cost for the filters, not per filter cost.
Agreed, West Fargo water is TERRIBLE. I grew up in Moorhead with the best water ever, and now suffer with WF water. I use a Brita pitcher and it works wonders. I actually hated drinking filtered Moorhead water because it ruined what "flavor" there was in it.
