What type of car/engine combo do you have? Just curious.

No pics or video's of your car ... guess we don't need to know anything about my car 😄

I use a diaper thats made for a BBC, it doesn't fit the greatest but it's not bad. It will keep in 95% of anything that happens to shoot out of the block. 😛 I had to relocate a wastegate pipe to get clearance, that was it. If you can't get clearance for one, a pan would be pretty easy to make I'd guess?

Problem with a pan in my car would be the headers. and around the factory frame and control arms... As far as the headers are concerned, they simply just hang too low and snake around all the factory frame ...Oh yea they also are with in a 1/16" of the oil pan on the passengers side of the car.. the drivers side has the starter and the headers are maybe a 1" away from that... Now understand I am not saying a diaper will not fit the engine but it would be real expensive with the custom headers that would be required to make it work... so now that 85 dollar diaper just jumped to about 2600.. and you still do not know if it would even work... I did talk to TT about a pan and how to design in, he said that it has to go from frame rail to frame rail and have a 2" lip all the way around, which is fine but the headers are so low that I would have a problem sealing around that area... and honestly if I was building a containment device like that I sure would not want the hot headers trapped with the oil from a freshly ventilated block/oilpan if ya know what I mean... 🙂

cool thanks for answering 🙂 I will definately try and make it down there a couple times ... Im guessing the car should run around a 9.30/.40, I say guessing because so far I have only run a 6.05 in the 1/8 with a terrible 60' time... need more converter and a tish more gear I am sure I can run a 5.90 so that should put me in that .30/.40 range

What about comp lic. ? will you accept a IHRA lic? .... I used to have a NHRA but rarely ever made it to Istate and the track in Minot is IHRA so it just made sense to me to have that...

    Thanks

Here are the rules... I just copied and paste from MCID forums

Quick-16 format and rules for Motor Magic
Cory and I are trying to institute a Quick-16 program for MCID. We’ll begin on the Friday night of Motor Magic. There will be a radio remote broadcast on 94.9 Zoo Radio so we will need some information about your car and driver for the show. A registration form is provided at the bottom of the highlights.
All the entry fees, plus $500, will go towards the purse… $1000 to win, $500 to RU, $125 for Semis. The race is sponsored by Outlaw Performance and Dave Morgan Seminars.
We must emphasize that this is a limited field, so don’t sit on your hands and wait to get registered… do it right away.
Here are the highlights of the Quick-16 race we will have on Friday Sept 3.
    • 16 car, qualified field ( qualified by quickest ET)
    • Five-tenths full tree
    • 25 car LIMIT on entry (must pre-register and pay $50 before Thursday Sept 2 at 5pm. Pre-register by filling out the form below or phoning the track at 710/833-8465. Payment arrangements for pre-registration will be made at that time.) The $20 entry fee can be paid at the gate. That’s right, the total cost is $70.
    • Pro-Ladder
    • Two timed runs
    • Can only dial a tenth slower than your qualifying runs
    • MCID will not reveal the names of the drivers ahead of time, nor will we refund the entry fees. If you register and pay, you have taken a slot in a LIMITED field. Entries ARE transferable (if you register and pay, then lose your motor the week before, you can sell your registration to someone else, but MCID needs a paid 25-car field to pay this purse. To transfer the entry, simply call the track and we’ll make arrangements.)

    ENTRY FORM
If you want to act promptly, please print this form and fill it out. Then include it with your check for $50 and send it to: MCID @ P.O. Box 3263, Minot, ND 58702

No rules run what you brung... but you will want to qualify because they are only accepting 25 entry's and for the 9 cars that are not quick enough to make it in... well they lose their entry fee since it goes to the pot to win... I would still imagine it is a bracket race once the 16 cars are determined... I can find out more info if you would like...I just noticed it does not say what it costs to enter the q16... You would think they would have included that... I believe the track manager Dave Morgan (doorslammers book, chassis seminar guy) did up the posters.. guess he over looked it..

Hmm the last time out my car ran 9.75@138 I have picked up some power and fully expect the car to run real low 9.40's more than likely 9.30's once it is all sorted out... but I would guess it will run in the 9's... Maybe I will just make 1 pass to see what it does, or as many as I can get away with 😉
