I bought a reverse camera for my truck on ebay after trying to install my clumsy big Clarion camera off my last car, I figured I would try the keyhole type. I got the camera mounted, hooked up the (+) to reverse lights,(-) to ground on the back of the hitch wiring plug on the camera side. For the reverse trigger wire on the H.U. Side, I tapped into the Black/Pink wire in the big bundle of wires behind the plastic kick panel under the hood release.
The camera came with a wiring diagram but it was in chinglish and I figured I wouldn't need it anyways so I threw it away. I know, bad idea ... Now that I have it all hooked up, I can't get an image to display on the H.U.(Pioneer AHV-P4300DVD). The screen isn't even displaying a blank picture when going into reverse and I cannot select the camera manually in the menu. I am wondering if anyone has any ideas on where to start trouble shooting. Also, can anyone Identify the red wires coming out of the yellow plugs at each end of the video cable? I made a diagram, forgive me, MS paint is all I have at work... I have a seperate trigger wire run independently from the video cable to eliminate any chance of electrical interference in the video signal. is this a built in trigger wire that is supposed to be running from the back of the cable to the front, so you only have to run one cord? That is the only thing I can think of. Any help would be much appreciated

Kind of an old-school throwback type install. No fiberglass, no motorization just a good, rugged sound system designed to get loud and sound great!
Since the car was equipped with a factory navigation system and the customer liked the way it worked we kept the head unit in place.... the OEM sound system was a 2nd level Boston Acoustics factory upgrade. When you see the pics you'll wonder how bad the base system must have been to call this an upgrade.... there was ZERO bass and mediocre sound at best.
From there we used a Zapco DSP-Z8 (not pictured as it is a hidden item and is very set and forget) digital signal processor to clean up the signal and provide equalization and crossover control to the rest of the system.
Power was provided by a pair of Massive Audio D-series amplifiers. A D800.4 (100x4) powers the mids and highs and a D3600.1 powers the subwoofers (1800x1).
Speakers consist of Massive Audio CK 69X components mounted in the front door (in a coaxial configuration) and JBL GTO628 Coaxials were utilized in the rear shelf.
Bass duty was provided by using a pair of Massive Audio Hippo 84 8" subs in a 1.5 cubic foot vented enclosure tuned to 38.5 Hz.
Power wire was 1/0 Gauge from DB Link. RCA Cables were also courtesy of DB Link as were speaker wires.
Battery & Battery Box are from XS Power D1200 Series
Sound deadening was from Hushmat.
Now on to the pics:
The products in their boxes

Box Design

Driver door with the panel off. You can't see it in the pic, but there was a ton of sound deadening material installed behind that vapor barrier

Gotta give a shout out to Weshole here, he convinced me to carve up the foam piece to integrate the crossover securely into the door. It worked AWESOME!

1/0 power and ground upgrade up front at the alternator. Another shout out to weshole as he was an alternator ninja for me and managed (somehow) to get his hands in there enough to get those wires on.

Guess which one was the stock speaker.... Oh... and those 6x9's are considered "subwoofers" according to Dodge/Boston Acoustics

Any of you tuners have a favorite watering hole?
I'm on revision 4 of my tune, and it looks like my tuner has had to pull back the ignition timing a bit over the revisions so far to avoid knock.
I'm wondering if maybe there's a better source of fuel I should try. I've been filling up at the 19th Ave N & University Stop-N-Go so far.
I know there are non-oxy stations around, but that would seem counter productive. I've never seen 93 in the area, and Brady's 105(?) isn't reasonable for a daily driver...

Quickfuel Echecker. [image: HYT7EAxl.jpg] [image: ht30Fl3l.jpg] I went back the next day actually and tried a different pump - got e60. Went back to the pump from the night before and got e75. I called to ask about it, and they said that the e85 isn't blended at the pump, it's straight from the tank. I think the lower e content samples can be blamed on e10, 20 or 30 in the lines from a previous customer, but I can't explain that e95 sample. I measured it twice. -

What are some must have's you guys have run into? looking for something 3000-3500 lbs. Going to be towing with 13 Pilot with 4500lb max cap. Will have trailer brake controller as well. I assume to get anything decently sized I am going to need to do a pop-up which is fine. Going to try to watch the paper/craigslist this fall and "steal" one. Any advice or leads on one would be awesome. Would like room to sleep 4-6 adults, and A/C

Looking into buying a ninja 250. Is there a shop you would recommend for a pre-purchase inspection, maintenance and aftermarket modifications?
Also, anyone selling/know of a '08+ ninja PM me. Thanks
Buy a service manual and do it yourself. Saves time and money. Just being honest. I do all my own maintenance just because I don't trust any mechanic anymore after some of the horror stories I've gone through. About the only thing I can't do on a bike is replace a tire and that's only because I don't have the equipment to do it. I could use blocks and a 2x4 but nah. I'll just take the wheels in and drop them off and pick them up later. Pre-purchase inspections are easy. Google can help on that or maybe one of your friends who knows motorcycles? I'd even possibly help out depending on the time/date. As far as a 250 getting boring? Yeah, if you ride it in a straight line all the time. But I have as much fun on a properly setup 250 in the lakes backwoods on 113 or at BIR. Just as much, if not more fun as I have on my ZX10 in the same places. Ultimately up to you. The 250 will peter out at around 80 MPH so if you're planning on taking it on the interstate bad choice especially if you're bigger. Go for the new Ninja 300 it will get up to 120 now. Or for a 600 as stated earlier. It all depends on how big you are. The SV650 is one of my all time favorite bikes as I used to have a race bike that was converted from an 01. That thing was a riot. Handled like a dream and was a terror on the track although not very competitive on the straights it could easily overtake a lot of the bigger bikes in the curves. On the street it was enough to commute and have fun in town. The Ninja 650R is a pretty good bike too. Has the sportbike look but a bit more relaxed riding ergos. It too is a 650 twin and is quite fun to ride (I looked at getting one years ago). But, if you're set on a 250R, go 08+ since they redid the suspension design for the better on them. If you look at all the bikes in the N250 class at BIR they are all 08+. If you can, go for the Ninja 300 but if you're a bigger guy, as I am, look at something with a bit more power like the SV650, 650R. They aren't classified as sport bikes so insurance will be cheaper and they can be found cheap (especially the SV). The 636 Ninja (old ones or the new ones) is about the perfect street bike. More than enough power and it handles awesome. I had an 05 and have been looking to purchase another to make it a track bike. Only problem is with the 636s squids tend to stunt the shit out of them and beat them to hell so they usually require some work. -

Began doing some research and I am finding mixed reviews on whether or not I need a power commander if the only engine mod I do is a full exhaust. I understand the need to change the computer settings when I do an intake mod, but is it necessary if all I want is the sound? I will eventually do the intake and power commander but in the mean time, can I just put the pipes on it, and rock without any other mods? Help me out!

Hello,
It's been quite a few years since I've been out at the strip. I have a Yellow 66 LeMans with a black hard top that would run 12.1 & sometimes dip in the low 12.0'srecently I have done some updates to my daily driver, a 2005 SS Monte Carlo; I'm hoping it will run mid to low 13's on street tires and with some slicks, tranny work and a few other mods, I'm hoping to get in the 12's with this one too.

I ran a 13.18@105 last year so we should be in the same ballpark.
