Cadillac is making some of the only US cars I'd consider. Some of the pics in that link look great IMO.
The CTS-V? Yes, i'd seriously consider it. I had a friend with a V6 CTS and he said it was rattling itself apart, so that's disappointing. But I like the idea of Caddy trying to build an M5 killer with the Z06 drivetrain in it. That's a solid recipie and if they can figure out how to build a chassis and an interior then they've probably got a winner on their hands.
I wanted to get excited about the G8 GXP but I just didn't. And the G8 program only offers a stick with the big ass V8 in it. And it's stupid expensive. You can always get a used german vehicle for less than a new American one, with equivalent or better performance/features/whatever, and it will retain its value considerably better.
The US car business model just isn't for me. I won't ever buy a car off the lot unless they just happen to have exactly what I would have built myself, and I will never buy a car "today", ever. But BillyBob motors is always trying to convince you to compromise on what you want and buy something out of inventory that second.
I don't think I can ever buy a GM product now anyway... Government Motors? No thanks.
