Spoke with another racer at BIR Thursday afternoon and supposedly the dirt work is in progress and he's hoping to open the gates next year. shrug He had info on where it is but I wasn't doing real well following his directions.

Here are the rules... I just copied and paste from MCID forums Quick-16 format and rules for Motor Magic Cory and I are trying to institute a Quick-16 program for MCID. We’ll begin on the Friday night of Motor Magic. There will be a radio remote broadcast on 94.9 Zoo Radio so we will need some information about your car and driver for the show. A registration form is provided at the bottom of the highlights. All the entry fees, plus $500, will go towards the purse… $1000 to win, $500 to RU, $125 for Semis. The race is sponsored by Outlaw Performance and Dave Morgan Seminars. We must emphasize that this is a limited field, so don’t sit on your hands and wait to get registered… do it right away. Here are the highlights of the Quick-16 race we will have on Friday Sept 3. • 16 car, qualified field ( qualified by quickest ET) • Five-tenths full tree • 25 car LIMIT on entry (must pre-register and pay $50 before Thursday Sept 2 at 5pm. Pre-register by filling out the form below or phoning the track at 710/833-8465. Payment arrangements for pre-registration will be made at that time.) The $20 entry fee can be paid at the gate. That’s right, the total cost is $70. • Pro-Ladder • Two timed runs • Can only dial a tenth slower than your qualifying runs • MCID will not reveal the names of the drivers ahead of time, nor will we refund the entry fees. If you register and pay, you have taken a slot in a LIMITED field. Entries ARE transferable (if you register and pay, then lose your motor the week before, you can sell your registration to someone else, but MCID needs a paid 25-car field to pay this purse. To transfer the entry, simply call the track and we’ll make arrangements.) ENTRY FORM If you want to act promptly, please print this form and fill it out. Then include it with your check for $50 and send it to: MCID @ P.O. For those just tuning in, there will be a weekend event at Interstate Dragways in Sabin, MN this Saturday and Sunday (August 7th-8th). This event will have 1/4 mile Drag Racing, Show-n-Shine Car Show, and Camping! Gates open Saturday at 10am and racing/show begins at 12pm. To add some fun to this event, we have created some trophies categories: Time Slip Awards Quickest ET – Bike (Time slip proof needed) Quickest ET – Car (Time slip proof needed) Most Passes Down The Track (Time slip proof needed) Best Reaction Time (Time slip proof needed, in event there is 2 people with perfect reactions, we will take next best) Slowest ET – (Time slip proof needed / Full throttle Run, coasting down the track will not count) Car Show / Event Awards Best Show N Go – Considered to be the most ‘fitting’ vehicle for this event Best of Show 1st – Peoples Choice Best of Show 2nd – Peoples Choice Best of Show 3rd – Peoples Choice Best Burnout (Give the crowd a show in the burnout box) Nicest Engine Bay (read: best overall appearance including: cleanest, most modified, quality parts) Best ‘I Broke It’ (We hope to keep this trophy, but in the event you REALLY break something, we will have something worthwhile for you to bring home) Wildest Wheelie – Car (Wheelies are encouraged) Nicest Paint (This will be for those with aftermarket paint on the exterior of the vehicle At 5pm on Sunday, we will award all trophies. Those trophies that require a time slip, will need you and your time slip(s) handy at the award ceremony. I will go through the trophies, and ask for those with potentially winning time slips to bring up their best/worst. We will ask if anyone can beat it, and if not, award the trophy. The random category trophies not time slip or peoples choice will be judged collectively by the event sponsors and TM staff. It will not be a popularity contest for these trophies, and hopefully the winners will be fairly evident to everyone. HANG ON TO ALL TIMESLIPS!!!
