riddle

Oh, and by the way, this is really obvious if you think about it, but it is confusing how they worded it. The $27 that they paid, would already include the $2 that the bell hop kept because they paid for it. However it wouldn't include the $3 that they got back.....27+3=30.
-
Each ended up paying $9 each for a total of $27. Plus the $3 they got back is a total of $30
They were supposed to pay $25 but they paid $27, which makes sense because the bellhop kept $2.
Charges:
$25 for the room + $2 for the bellhop=$27
$30 initial charge - $3 refund = $27
Each paid $9 and $9 x 3 = $27The real trick is simply that the bellhop's 2$ is part of the cost of the room to the men. not an over all charge

Three men checked into a hotel room for which they paid $30. The next day, the manager realized that the men had been overcharged. She gave the bellhop $5 to return to the three men. On the way to their room the bellhop decided to keep $2 for himself, and give each of the three men one dollar. The three men had now paid $9 each, or a total of $27. This plus the $2 the bellhop kept makes a total of $29. What happened to the other dollar?
Hayley wants to know why 3 men checked in to a hotel room?
I give up..
Total Paid (initially) $30
Price they should have paid $25
Price EACH person should have paid (25/3) $8.33333333...
Price EACH person paid Bellhop $0.66666666...
Total refund for each person $18.33+.66+1= $10 (ok 9.999999999999.. each person really paid 8.34 for the room)

K heres a couple more...
A car's odometer shows 72927 miles, a palindromic number. What are the minimum miles you would need to travel to form another? (a palindrome can be read both forwards and backwards, like "Kayak")There are 20 people in an empty, square room. Each person has full sight of the entire room and everyone in it without turning his head or body, or moving in any way (other than the eyes). Where can you place an apple so that all but one person can see it?
What is black when you buy it, red when you use it, and gray when you throw it away?

73037 110 miles
What is black when you buy it, red when you use it, and gray when you throw it away? COAL>>>>

Here's one for yall, A boy, who was waiting in front of a store, had a six foot fishing pole and he was waiting for the city bus to take him home. The bus pulled up and the boy went to go get on. The driver said that the pole was to long and the longest maximum anything was four feet. So the boy said ok, I will be right back. He went into the store and bought something. A few minutes later, the boy got on the bus and everything was fine. What did the boy buy?

Anyone remember the Plane on a conveyor belt question?
Would it take off?
the many pages on many forums w/ that question..I would figure w/ the 6ft fishing pole that it would come into two pieces like most fishing poles now days, so either he bought a knife and cut it in half, or a string to bend it & tie it up to stay bent so it was within the correct length. I'm sure both are wrong..
