Why doesn't anybody race?

Did we as a group price outselves out of our own demographic? Hell, I've got over $10k in mods on my car, and just because i'm not uber fast I feel like I don't belong at these meets. Everyone always says "do something different" but ultimately unless you follow status quo, everyone thinks of you as the doing stupid shit that means nothing. Guess what, it meant something to those that put their hard earned money into their car. I'm a high 12-low 13 second car at best...you know what though, I have built MY CAR the way I want it....yet I hear from everyone "When are you gonna get a 'real' turbo" or "why did you put all that money into your car and not race it?" The answer: "Maybe never" and "Because I know how fast it will go, no need to beat it up at the track over and over and over" because right now I'm happy with how it runs and I'm happy NOT having to buy parts for my car.

Well.. I am an unbiased customer; and wouldn't lean 1 way more-so than the other..
And I'll probably get quotes from both of them this coming spring; for a clutch install... -

Chuck, I know what you mean with the whole mods shpeel. The reason I mainly dont even bother posting up new parts or whatever is because I will more than likely just get bashed... Like right now, I'm sure no one cares I will have a 13's second all motor honda next year, because its not a 12 second car, and because "NA is gay!" Oh well, Haters will be haters... -

i would just like to add something also.... im sick of people calling you when you have your car up and running, and the second it breaks down.... noone will call you to go out and do shit.... im sick of fakes and liers.... you know who you are.... if you just want to be around me because of my car.... you can FUCK OFF! have a nice day

All kidding aside, I know what you're saying, Parker.
And Joel, fuck what anyone thinks. I could post up my parts listing, and I can guarantee, the first thing people will ask is: 'Where is the motor?' Don't worry about what others think, just get the bitch together, be sneaky or open about it, but don't slack off like I have, haha.
Oh, and does someone want to make a thread for the winter beater meet? I assume it's in Fargo, so it would be pointless for me to try to suggest a location.

Fargo needs a race track. Easier said then done. By race track i don't mean a drag strip. Drag racing is fine if thats what you like. Personally i don't care if your car is faster in the 1/4. I enjoy actually racing. To me the real test of man and machine is a real race track. A place where you can do some laps, learn the limits of your car and skill. I'm not trying to say drag racing isn't racing, it is all that you can do around here. Drag racing someone on the street isn't very smart. I know they have auto crosses around here but those are a joke. 30 second runs around a parking lot seems pretty pointless, to me anyway. I used to go to St. Cloud but something happened there and they don't race anymore or something. I did get to see a bmw in a very violent crash there, man was that something. I will race anyone around a track.
