Hey, finally some people talking about something other than drag racing. Nice to see some of you who enjoy turning the wheel. Where do you guys race? I used to go to St. Cloud but haven't in a couple of years. I would like to go to a real race track sometime but i need to improve my brakes. I don't have a truck and a trailer either, which is a must have. I have been lucky in the past but if you drive your car to the track and wreck it your SOL. My car has been very reliable. Guess what i drive? 92 eclipse gsx. I have driven 2hrs. to the track 6-8hrs. at the track and then back home with no problems except worn out brakes. Anyhow good to hear about you guys, keep fightin the good fight.

Speaking for naturalbornkeller, I think that he was more referring to the Brainerd type events rather than parking lot auto-x type events. Not that auto-x isn't fun, I just think that he would rather be able to take his car to 100+ mph and then have to drop down few gears for some hairpins. He is a big fan of F1 racing so I can see this as being more of his style of a race/track event.

My evo should do fine on a road course!!!
JIC FLA-2's full coil overs w/ Stiff Springs
Chassis Brace
Trunk full of braces
Hotchkis Rear Adjustable sway bar
Aftermarket adjustable front sway barSoon to get End links, and all new bushings
Anyone know of anyother parts that would help out alot?

i think you got enough kevin unless you want or already have a trunk bar, lower arm bar, triangulating rear strut bar, ajustable control arms, ect....but you said you had a trunk full so you probably have most of that.

Stock brembo's should be find as long as you get some good pads and sticky tires.

A truck and a trailer is a smart idea. Just in case your car breaks or you crash or whatever, anything can happen. thats the thing that keeps me from doing more roadracing besides my job, just too busy in the summer. -

Steering is very quick , I also have a very small aftermarket steering wheel that seems to help alot! Wes I plan to do SS brake lines, and hawk pads befor I race.. The only thing I need is someone to set up my suspension and sway bars anyone have a clue? I will also be getting some very very stick tires that may not last long...
450+ hp be enough? full boost at 4,000 rpms in 3rd/4th..

Your suspension/swaybar/brakes should all be adjusted by you for your specific style of driving so i suggest you bring tools to the track and do your workthere. 450 wheel? with supper stiff rear end....are you familiar with the term "power over", even with your computer on wheels!!

I won't be able to provide a in depth tech responce. But I believe its when you are corning and the car begins to loose traction do the the HP/TQ the vehicle makes, not from the suspension or the tires. Sort of like drifting(drifting) but that is the first thing that come to my mind

mathematically speaking the stiffer your swaybar setup (big bar, solid everything) the more understeer you will create. THIS DOES NOT MEAN LESS GRIP. It actually makes more grip as more of your tire stays in road contact. Anyway the stiffer your rear end the more appt to slide it is. Then you add all that power your making and you'll create the "power over" drifitng effect. think american muslce car movie u turn drift. You don't swerve to start it, but you start to swing out because of the power you ake. So you're going to probably have your back end swinging around A LOT until you get your setup tuned, or just stay that way and learn to drive it like that. The 2 door billion hp evo does.
For reference, watch youtube videos of WRC Road Rally footage. you should be able to do those 1 lane uturn that they do.
