very strange engine swap

waste something a little more common like a 240 or FC....

nice!

IMO, I guess it depends on where this car is located..
If it is in Japan, where this car is common, than why not (to be different of course) if this was State side.. I'd find it to be kind of a dumb swap, (yes it is different) but kind of takes away of all the fun of it being a skyline.. (the lack of the RB)
But being a twin-turbo'd v8 is pretty sweet.
to each their own -
I've never really been a fan of engines swaps from different brands. In my opinion if you're gonna do an engine swap at least use the same brand. The ones that I really hate (I know i'm gonna get crap for this) is when people put other engines into RX-7's. The whole point of the car is the rotary engine, that's why it's a unique car.

The entire car is based on handling and performance, the rotary engine was simply the "most" effective means of maintaining the balance (weight distribution) and reaching their mazda's power goals while allowing for affordbility, fuel economy and reliability.
Also, the rotary is said to create a "gyroscopic effect" that is supposed to keep the car in better ballance, similar to subaru's boxer being low to the ground, or the slight "v" in some straight 6's to maintain less engine movement
Back to the swapped Skyline.
MY opinion is: the engine is not the key point to the skyline, it's just a bonus. I would buy the car for the amazing handling. As long as this swap retained the purpose of the car, all it's really doing is allowing for a shit ton more power.....

story of this car was that i started out as a GTS-4, it was AWD and came with no engine/trans. From this point i dont think it was a waste of anything, but if it would have came with a RB26 then it wouldnt make much sense.
its an LS2, it only has a cam, 228 @ 112 in it, stock heads, and 918 springs. Boost will be kept stock for a while, which is 5.5 psi i beleive, makes 520whp and 640wtq from 3000rpm on up. This is made by the same people that have the worlds fastes Silvia, also with a LS1, and the skyline is going to be the ultimate drifter. -

I think a TT V8 is quite sexy if you ask me. especially in a Nissan.
