if its a 90-91 probe you have to drop the steering column down( remove 4 bolts) and there are 2 break away screws..the heads of the screws break off when u install the ignition cylinder...take a cut off wheel and cut a slot into each screw and use a screw driver to remove the screws...I will post a pic of the breakdown of the steering column

I got the ignition out and thats the pinout I made for it. Does anoyone know what colors mean what? I know blue is accessory. but other than that, i have NO clue.

THe gay little lines through them are the tracer colors.

In the pic you had of the top of the steering lock youll notice to bolts with no head on them, those are breakaway bolts. just notch them with a cutoff wheel or a dremel tool and take a screwdriver to them and remove them. Or use a chisel if room allows. Once you get the ignition cylinder/switch assy out you can unscrew the two or three phillips screws holding the lock and tumbler to the switch itself. Wella, all you need is a screwdriver to start the beatch. Take the lock cylinder to a locksmith at your liesure and have him make you a key. Go to the parts store and get two bolts with the same pitch as the old bolts and bolt er back in. Hope this helps a little.

Thanks wes, raider has already given me that very helpful information up there.I dont think anyone gets it. I am not having another key made, I AM MAKING A PUSH BUTTON START. I already got the ignition cylinder off the steering column. What I need is labels to my diagram to figure out how to wire my push button start.

Might just be easier to go to a junkyard and buy a new ignition cylinder that has a key already w/ it.

If not, it will be interesting doing the wiring. You are right, you will need a momentary pushbutton switch to attach to the starter wire(s) probably gonna be a black/yellow wire. As for the other switch you will need a toggle switch to be wired to at least 3 different relays.

Relay #1 will go to Ignition #1 (black/white wire) when activated
Relay #2 will go to Ignition #2 (black/red wire) when activated
Relay #3 will go to Accessory (blue wire) when activated

As for unlocking the steering, you might be able to just remove the stock ignition cylinder. Get a manual cuz I'm not sure how ford goes about removing them for this vehicle.

The downside to this is that anyone can steal your vehicle at any time if they can figure out what each switch does.

So this is what your saying?

basically that is what I'm saying....except that you're gonna want a couple of relays being triggered off that toggle switch to turn on the ignition/ignition2/accessory wires. I have a couple relays laying around my garage somewhere that I'll sell ya for a couple of bucks each (whatever they cost me I'll sell them to you for)...and I'll attempt to explain how to wire them off that toggle switch for ya.

Joel, did you atleast soldier those wires? There are little slide on crimp connectors that are available for those switches, I know that the rest of the probe is ghetto, but the last thing you want is a fire underneath the dash.

Yes I did solder them mr safety. I didn't wanna take the time to run to a hardware store. And thats 15 cents more i can spend on many other things, everypenny counts in junkyard wars! I will eventually crimp those connections when I get a chance to go to a hardware store. All I have left to do is mount the wires, and I'm ready for HIN!wait...
