My battery on my old laptop is useless, if it isnt plugged in the comp wont work. My current laptop is pretty much always on the charger unless its getting moved.

        PM me for:
        Sandblasting(I use glass beads)
        Diesel repairs or performance products.

From what I understand, if you leave your battery in your laptop and just use A/C power most of the time, it hurts your battery. If you just use your laptop at home and don't need it, keep your battery out and it'll last longer.

That is the only reason I like my Best Buy service plan. They will replace batteries for free within the 3 years

Most modern laptops will not continue to charge the battery after its fully charged.... They simply switch to AC Power.

Think of a UPS... same concept.

I have had my Gateway laptop for more than 18 months now, and my battery is fine. I only use my battery whenever I'm at school, otherwise it's always plugged in at home. Ideally, you are suppose to charge the battery only when its almost empty. Same concept with cellphone's batteries.
