Yeah last time I called in to cancel our 30 day warranty something or other to get the $50 back I had to explain it to Shuhibbaruanamenananana and then he had to transfer me to America anyways.

From what I understand, if you leave your battery in your laptop and just use A/C power most of the time, it hurts your battery. If you just use your laptop at home and don't need it, keep your battery out and it'll last longer. Most modern laptops will not continue to charge the battery after its fully charged.... They simply switch to AC Power.
Think of a UPS... same concept.

New battery should be here in 3-5 days. I had to talk to....Payal....who then transferred me to...June. Payal spoke fairly clear english but couldn't help me with my problem.

I have had my Gateway laptop for more than 18 months now, and my battery is fine. I only use my battery whenever I'm at school, otherwise it's always plugged in at home. Ideally, you are suppose to charge the battery only when its almost empty. Same concept with cellphone's batteries.
Dell battery recall program, click the link to see if your battery is on the list.
