Ls1 RX7
-
Reminds me of high school FFA guys talking about throw'n a threefiddy in damn near anything. I guess I don't get it. Personally the reason I like the RX7 is because it's a very unique car, with a unique engine. There are plenty of other cars to toss another engine in, why not ruin one of those? Im sure theres a few datsuns out there just begging for it. Leave the rx7 alone

isnt there a really high rebuild rate on the rotary motors? like when the low coolant light comes on you pretty much f'ed? seems like a LS1 swap would be a very reliable and badass replacement...maybe not as cost effective thou

There is someone on this forum that is planning a 383 swap into a 2nd Gen RX7 if memory serves correct (I'm not naming names, I'll let him tell you who he is if he wants the info out there). I used to be opposed to this idea, but it is actually a very cost effect & reliable solution for those looking to make serious power reliably from an RX7

you can do both with the ls1 in it...i think the ls1 looks better in it than a rotary, and it works better too

and heres another one....FC though

there are a few around that are/will be making some power shortly. I can appreciate the idea of the ls1, and the power/torque potential, but for me to see an rx7, and then hear a v8 when it revs completely ruins it for me. part of what makes it so rare is the rotary. it's the same thing as putting an rb26dett into a mustang that so many people think is dumb as hell.
