We should have some sort of assembly when one of these happens, call everyone you know right away so we can all come there, We have the right to Assemble, or start taking these to the court system and letting the local media know about it. Its the same as any other type of profiling, and is illegal. Clearly there is more than one or two cases out there.acctualy if someone or a few people acctually took this serious and acctually wrote a good letter to the fourm i bet it would make a good story they might consider

theres not enough crime around here, so the cops get bored and target us. its bullshit. i got a ticket last year in january for exhaust 3 days after i bought my old civic. the bitch cop knew i just bought the car and still wrote me a god damn ticket for it. she then proceeded to follow me all the way from advance auto parts to my old apartment down by kmart on s. university. i hate patrol pigs.
i do love ranting though, sorry bout no paragraphs thing though -

Somebody please tell me where in this document it says I can't have my licience plate in my windshield...this is the one that I have apparently violated.39-04-11. Display of number plates and tabs. Except as otherwise specifically
provided, a person may not operate or drive a vehicle on the public highways of this state unless
the vehicle has a distinctive number assigned to it by the department, and two number plates,
bearing the distinctive number conspicuously displayed, horizontally and in an upright position,
one on the front and one on the rear of the vehicle, each securely fastened, except number
plates assigned to a motorcycle, trailer, or housetrailer must be attached to the rear thereof.
When only one number plate is furnished for an apportioned vehicle licensed under the
international registration plan as authorized in section 39-19-04, truck tractor, or semitrailer, the
plate must be attached to the front of the apportioned vehicle or truck tractor and the rear of the
semitrailer. The bottom of each number plate must be at a height of not less than twelve inches
[30.48 centimeters] above the level surface upon which the vehicle stands. Each plate must be
mounted in a manner that does not cover any words, letter, or number on the plate. As far as is
reasonably possible, the plates must at all times be kept free and clear of mud, ice, or snow so
as to be clearly visible and all number plates, markers, or evidence of registration or licensing
except for the current year must be removed from the vehicle. All vehicle license plates issued
by the department continue to be the property of the state of North Dakota for the period for
which the plates are valid. An annual registration tab or sticker for the current registration year
must be displayed on each number plate, in the area designated by the department for the tab or
sticker, in those years for which tabs or stickers are issued in lieu of number plates. Those are the areas I could see them having issue with.

I believe if an officer follows you for more than 3 or 4 turns without pulling you over it can be classified as harassment.
And yes the police can and do run plates for no reason all the time. When I did my ride along every stoplight we'd run the plates of at least 1 car or while driving. They do it to see if there are any warrant hits.

If I ever have a police officer fallow RIGHT my ass I just pull over into the next place of business RIGHT away. If they still fallow, I get out of my car, walk into the place of business, etc. They will keep driving because they are too preoccupied running your plates, trying to find something wrong.
And if they do fallow you, they won't turn their lights on because they don't have a reason yet.
I honestly think police are just out to ruin peoples day, keep peoples moral down a little. They target specific cars so they are more warry in the future.

Yea, i tried that ^^^ and he waited outside for 20 minutes.

So, it's no secret that there is a member of the fargo police that watches these boards, I'd kinda like to have him speak up here and tell us what his side is. Hell he could even make a different name so those of us that can't check his IP don't know who he is.

It's part of the job. You can't honestly say that if you had a badge slapped on you wouldn't get a slight ego boost and develop the "I'm above the law" mentality too. Perks of the job, and while I absolutely hate it because they aren't above the law, they do get away with stuff regular people never could. Every job has its perks, and any LEO can usually get away with stuff that cost a regular person hundreds of dollars and jacked up insurance rates. Obviously the bad ones give the entire department a bad rep too, and the bad ones are usually the ones that target people like "us" too. I think the good officers realize what they really should be doing and don't worry about ricers and stuff unless you're doing something blatantly wrong. The egomaniac "I'M THE LAW ROUND HERE" types are the ones that pick on any and everyone just to get off on the fact that they're basically in control.

I don't think you will ever get a cop to post anything on this topic at all. Then they wouldn't have an excuse to why they pulled us over therefore not being able to meet there quotas. Ive lost all respect for the cops in this area because of a few things that have happened and they did nothing.

5 patrol cars? For expired tabs? Waiting 20 minutes outside of a grocery store?
Complain to somebody. These are my tax dollars at work. I've never heard a fart can in town that was half as loud as the fucking harleys that shit around town all the time. I think fart cans are ghey but at least they don't piss off my dog when they drive by or hurt my ears at a stop light.
Also, does anyone know a lawyer here that successfully contests moving violations? When I lived in seattle it was standard practice.. everyone knew the short list of lawyers that made tickets disappear for $3-$500. I'd always rather give my money to the private enterprise of my choosing than the corrupt state that I don't get to choose. When enough people successfully fight tickets, the revenue service will realize that their easy money train has dried up to the point of non-profitability.

Hmm, I've never been harrassed by the cops unless I was askin for it.Doesn't mean it doesn't happen. I've had first hand experience and heard way too many stories to even question the fact that there are plenty of officers up here who have egos that are WAY too large.
