Hey!

Yeah im into the raw horsepower....plus the H22 stock has the same horsepower as a turbo'd F22.....and later on there is still room to turbo the H22, if im still not pleased with all the potential i can get out of that motor.

saying that a nt motor has the same power as a turbo motor is incredibly silly. how big the turbo is, how big the exhaust, what kind (mandrel, press-bent), what sort of fuel control, etc... i don't think you looked into a turbo at all, otherwise you would know this. go talk to nick or kevin at sls before you totally rule out turbo in favor of an h22.
if you think that an h22 will make your car faster than a turbo, then i'm tempted to boost my gf's 92 prelude (sohc power!) to show you how mistaken you are... and i will have spent far less.
the most popular turbo around here seems to be the pte 50trim, power and streetable lag. one of these can be had for 200-800. with just an fmu and 7-8psi, i'm confident that an f22 would walk all over your h22 -
<- I agree with you for most of that.
You'd be better off however, buying just a straight up garett turbo, they are alot cheaper, and you don't need the mitsu flange. Brand new 57 trim's are 550 shipped.
For the price you'd pay for a motor swap, you could buy a turbo kit, and yes, as out there said, most likely walk ALL over that h22.
Look at spooldude for example, he's got an h22 swap, he runs mid 15's all day.
then look at tufte's hatch, its got the 57 trim turbo, an ebay manifold, and just the supporting mods, and he ran 12.5 untuned. keep in mind this is a SOHC 1.6l, compared to 2.2l DOHC Vtec motor.

Really?...wow..No im not totally ruling out the possibility of a turbo, im still openly looking at both sides...its just that i have read a turbo takes a lot of work in my car, nothing i wouldnt be willing to tackle if my car would truely be quicker...but my car is also a plain f22....its not the vtec f22...does that make a difference???

All stock baby! Haha. At least I run 16's though. For a DX anyways. I won't complain for now!
