Now I'm hearing different things from people...

1: Just let the engine warm up
2: its a 20 yr old car....the transmission is slipping

    the problem....

When I get on it to get up to speed so I can merge into the interstate, sometimes the engine flies up to a high RPM and then falls back down and I get a nice kick in the ass from my car...Im gonna try to make a video so I can have it explained ALOT better...

    please help me.

I think his car is an auto. My Accord used to do something similar when the stock auto tranny was slipping. After driving the car for a couple miles it would stop. Does your car stop slipping after you've driven it a little bit?

if thats happening. try letting the car get warmed up, not engine temp, that can warm up but you tranny will not with out use. Drive like a granny for the first 10min or so. Sounds like tranny slipping. Do you accelerate at all when the RPMs were dropping?

hey, I may have a NA 5-speed z31. car has not moved in at least 3 years. But should be ok drivetrainwise

i thought if you flush a auto trans that has alot of miles on it, you can take of the varnish or w/e. and it will just slip more or even worse just stop working.

thats what i have been told

In imports the clutch packs wear out faster than normal and the material in the fluid will clog some passeges in the valve body and will cause it to slip at higher rpm's.

ya, if it just slips still after tranny service. tranny is more then likely toast. I sort of noticed something up with the tranny when i drove your car, just didnt know for sure.

If the varnish in your transmission is the only reason it was still working you are gonna need a tranny anyways a quick flush and fill wont kill you.

I had my tranny serviced COMPLETELY and it was in perfect cond. but I am planning on a 5 - speed swap here soon....along with a LOT of other projects, in example, turbo.

If the flush didnt fix it completely you could always throw in some lucas trans fix, to help it work for a little longer, lol. Not a cure all but might get a little more life outa it...
