From what I can see, and this is just my opinion, Joel is trying to do something good for the kids. His idea was to show that even though people may think bad of some of us, we can still do good things in our community. He is doing it for children. He's not trying to get people to join fargostreet. Just letting them know the group of people who is bringing this event together.
Just thought I'd voice my opinion. Peace out.

i really didn't see anyone else step up to something like this, so to get down on joel for maybe geting a lil upset at someone who was trying to " cover his ass". is dumb
and chuck you may be older but your not "always" right when it comes to being profesional. now i know you were trying to help but i think it came off in the wrong way on your end.
-
I completely disagree.^
It's called being professional, even though you may not always get the deal you want. You always want to try and keep good relations with customers/coworkers/dist./companies..... and stuff like that so that you do not loose them for things that may happen in the future.
-
did i ever say to "not" be proffesional? um no.
but the fact that ppl sit back and do nothing then bitch when someone says something that they think they could have done better, gets a little old.
-
you reffered to chucks stuff not always being professional. His letter he put up was WAY WAY more professional then what Joel did. I am not trying to start a hipocrit battle about who did this and who did that. If you also read, chuck was not here at all during the times the emails was passed.
-
what i was trying to get across is that chuck talks like he knows everything alot, king of being professional, king of politics, etc.... now i'm not bashing him as i don't think he does it on purpose. it is getting old....

Out of all people, I know what can happen when you send a harsh email to somebody. I sent an email stating I was very upset over a small incident at school to one of the head I-T people and I got slapped with "Disorderly Conduct" and got put on probation for a year...I eventually got the violation removed from my record with appeals, but am still on probation for the next 2 months (it was for a full year). The point is that I learned, no matter what, you have to sound professional. I am not mad at Joel for what he emailed, just let it be a lesson learned. If you decide to disagree with somebody on an issue and want to send a reply online, make sure you not only proofread (Joel, you have quite a few grammar mistakes in your emails), but make sure that if you were reading it and didn't know the person that you make sure that it doesn't sound harsh in any way. Acting all pissed does not get you anywhere unless you like digging yourself in a hole.
Summary, I give Joel props for doing what he has with this...nobody else really stepped up to the plate, so he did it. We all make mistakes and learn from them...so lets all quit bitching and continue to make an attempt at making this event work out to its full potential.

Everyone is just sitting here complaining about how joel should have handled it differentyl blah blah blah. Yes he should have but i think after a couple ppl pointed that out it would be enough, he has a lot of things going on right now and he probably let his frustration take over and don't act like non of you have let that happen. So yes he made a mistake, but get over it, jesus, it isn't the end of anything. They had already turned him down so it isn't like he lost a good help anyways, at best he could have talked them into running a few ads.
