first off i had 31s on it, but they were shot so i threw the stockers on for wintertil i can afford my good tires agian come summer, since swampers suck in the winter anyways.

Also how is it elaborate? it folds down and has 2 pins, not even a latch to hold in in place.

And as far as blocking the rear view, the only windows in ND that cant be completely blocked are the front three, i could spray paint the rest of my windows black if i felt like it.

why is it some odd looking shape? in my opinion i wouldn't want to lift my tire carrier everytime i want to get in the back of my truck, let alone the fact that is totally in the way of loading and unloading the truck.

your reason for not making a swing out carrier was poor if not bad planning. and why do you need bad ass reverse lights?

it justs looks like your trying to hard to make a "bad ass" carrier. why not just make one that works well now, then latter if you want to add a little style to it change it....

now this is just my opinion so take it with a grain of salt..... but thumbs up for making your own stuff

I can see why you need light, when driving a lifted vehicle, its nice to be able to see more stuff when backing up.

and WTF is the things that go to where the top connects?

they look like heim joints with some sort of rod to be able to adjust it.

this works for what i want it for. What you guys think is that i use my hatch every day... I dont haul anything, and i only go in the hatche when i need to do something. I cant haul anything more. I have a Lincoln Pro Mig 140, Power inverter, and a tool box back there. I am putting expanded steel mesh on the back of the top half to use as a little welding table for repairing parts on the trail or whatever. I do not want a swing out carrier, if i wanted one i would have built one. The backup lights are big so i can actually see shit, XJ's have really crappy lights that do not shine enough to see anything. Now i can actually see shit when backing.

I like it. If it would be swing style would it have to mount to the hatch? if so i can see why you put it that way, as the hatch wouldnt lift, but im not sure if it would mount to the hatch or not. I like that rear bumper though for sure. Keep posting projects Harwood, come on!

no, it wouldn't mount to the hatch if it was a swing out. The pivot would be far enough out that you'd swing it out and raise the hatch just fine.

The pivot would go all the way on either side of the bumper and only mount there.

It would more then likely be a triangle design and it would swing far enough out to open the hatch, that is if you know how to build it correctly.
